Florida Florida as a National Seed....
is a complete joke. I'm not saying Ole Miss should've gotten it but FSU definitely should. Florida didn't win their conference or get to 40 wins.

It should have gone to Rice but having two SEC teams seeded is good.

I agree, especially after how we performed in the SEC Tournament. I think the head to head win over you guys was the deciding factor. Going into the SEC Tournament I think Ole Miss had the slight edge over us in terms of getting the national seed and that 12-2 loss really hurt you guys.

It won't surprise me at all if the Gators can't get past Miami in the Regional round and we blow our shot at playing at a Super Regional in Gainesville.

It probably didn't hurt that we beat the sh*t out of FSU 10-2 in 1 game, and won another 5-4, in our 2-1 series win with them. The only game they won against us was a weather-shortened (5 innings) 2-3 loss. We also went 2-2 against Ole Miss; and since LSU was already going to be a seed from the West, we probably got the nod as a rep from the East. And Rice didn't win its conference or get to 40 wins, either, in a terrible conference (C-USA).

Most of us thought it'd be really close with only 1 win in the tourney, but our resume isn't much different than anybody else's in the running for the seed; and our record against at least 1 of them (FSU) head-to-head can't be denied. shanksta's probably right, too. Ole Miss failing in the SEC Tourney likely was the deciding factor. UF had been 2 and out in the tourney the last 2 seasons; but beating Ole Miss (who tied for the SEC title) that bad probably pushed us over the top.

Florida State didnt deserve it, Rice lost their conference by one game and won their tournament.

Florida lost their conference by 1 game, too. Also, Florida's RPI is #8 and SOS is #4... Rice's RPI is #10 and SOS is #21. WarrenNolan.com - 2009 College Baseball - Ratings Percentage Index (RPI)

Florida's RPI and SOS are going to be stout most years because of SEC conference play, plus regular season series against 2 of the top programs in the country every year, Miami and FSU, who have made the tourney 37 and 32 straight years, respectively.

We even had filler games against 2 other teams who made the tourney, Jacksonville and Bethune-Cookman (both wins), during the regular season.

Looks like the joke isn't so funny for a few teams in our regional. Gators thump ThugU and their ace 8-2.
