LSU opened baseball practice on Sunday, though they have not yet moved into the new stadium. The old Alex Box was still the scene for the team, though today the venue will change to the brand new stadium down the street.
Starting Tuesday, LSU will work out at the new Alex Box, the sparkling $30-million palace where the Tigers will play this season, starting Feb. 20 with the first of a three-game season-opening series against Villanova. And when that series and the 2009 season commence, LSU will start the year ranked No. 1 or 2 in the four college baseball polls.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! I LOVE LSU BASEBALL! This ought to be a special season if this team has improved over the offseason from its CWS appearance last year! Geaux Tigers!!!!
That has got to awesome for these guys to be the first ones to practice and play on that field.
I drive past it almost every day and it just doesn't look ready to me. Maybe the field is okay (can't see it from Nicholson), but the stands and outbuildings look like they've still got a ways to geaux.

I haven't pasted by in a month or so. I'm sure there will still be work to do even after season starts. But I imagine field and stands will be ready. Stuff like parking lot can really be done in just a few days.
