Giant Killer Oregon State Killed... By Another Giant Killer, Utah
.
Wow, how bad is the Pac-1? A week after beating consensus #1, USC, the Beavers got rotten, and gave it up to Mountain West team, Utah tonight. Granted, the Utes are ranked #15; but one has to think that's pretty generous; and any team who just beat USC should be able to handle them, right? Well, maybe not. Leading by 8 with 2 minutes to play in the game, the Beavers let the Utes back in it by first allowing them to score a TD. Then, on the 2-point conversion try, the Utah pass was not going to be completed; but, the defender committed a pass interference penalty, giving Utah another shot from half the distance. The QB then scampered around the end to get in untouched to tie the game.
Oregon State gets the ball back with a minute and a half to move into FG range. They go 3 and out, and punt. The punt goes 30 yards, giving Utah the ball at their 45, with over a minute still on the clock, and needing only about 15-20 yards for their own FG try. Their kicker is like one of the best in the nation with a long of 58 yards. They run a few plays, including a 16-yard pass play, to get the ball to the OSU 20. Kicker then nails a 37-yard FG with no time remaining to complete the comeback... having scored 11 points in the last 2 minutes to win. Exciting finishes just keep coming.

This also makes USC look less impressive since they couldn't beat them, which in turn makes their defeat over tOSU look less impressive. So it hurts both of those teams versus a one-loss SEC team. That is, if we have a one-loss SEC team, which I doubt.
I thought it was pathetic that a team ranked 15th in the nation stormed the field after beating an unranked team. It was a great finish, though.
Well, they realize they probably shouldn't be ranked 15th; and beating the team that just upset USC is a big deal. Plus, I don't think they were rushing the field because of the win over the specific team, as much as celebrating one helluva comeback. Did I mention they moved down the field twice in the last 2 minutes to not only score a TD, but also the 2-point conversion after a penalty gave them a second chance; and after giving the other team a possession, got back down for the winning FG? I mean, come on... I'd have rushed the field if we'd have beaten just about anybody like that. That had to be one crazy relief and adrenaline rush all at the same time.
It was one more surprising game, in what is becoming a season simply filled with surprises. When the Beavers took down USC, they were playing inspired football. That much is obvious, now.
Where was the game? Where was TOSU Beavers when they beat USC?
ahhh..... 70% of the time the home team wins. That's why UF losing to an unranked team who hadn't been to a bowl in 4 years is worse than SC losing to OSU on the road.

They have not been to a bowl game in 4 years but Nutt was not coaching them then.
What matters is this. Ole Miss beat UF this year and will Ole Miss make a bowl game this year?
I think the Rebs will go bowling this year and that will make the loss to them less worse. Esp if they go 7-5 or 8-4 rather than 6-6
I watched the second half of this game and the late flag pass interference call was a joke on the 2 pt conversion. The ball was high and behind the reciever and the defender. The reciever tried to reverse and ran into the defender. Besides the pass was uncatchable.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Yep, they got shafted on that one. Make that incident reason #27,976 to get rid of all officials in college football, and start over from scratch. Amazing how many they still get wrong, even with instant replay from so many vantage points.

Ahhh, not sure how your logic works, if at all, but what does how Ole Miss fared in the past have to do with the team they are this year... all that goes out the window once a new coach and staff hits the field with them? Aside from that, what does any of it have to do with Florida?
Shame, I really like Bama; but you're proof positive that every fan base has their embarrassments.

My logic is a stat. 70% of the time a home team wins. How is that hard for you? Or are you trying to tell me Ole Miss is a bowl team? I'm more so making a point how stupid it is for people to throw USC under the bus when UF had a worse loss for the fact it was at home.
