Default SEC in the Olympics
This is old news, but a fresh perspective. Tennessee swimmer Christine Magnusson pointed this out to Mike Slive last night at the SEC Meetings:

" There were a bunch of Olympians from the SEC in Beijing. Had the SEC been a country, she said, it would have finished fourth in the medal count with a total of 51 behind only the United States (110), China (100), and Russia (72)."

"I'd rather lose as a Dawg than win as any other team....once a Dawg, always a Dawg---how sweet it is!"

Yea I don't know about the other SEC schools but I do know Auburn had a couple swimmers in there. Anyone have a list of all the SEC contenders?

This past Olympics, UF athletes accounted for, or were on teams that accounted for 14 total medals... 5 Gold, 4 Silver, 5 Bronze; and 2 world records. Final Olympic Medal Tally For Gator Olympians
