Given High Fives: 2,597 Rep Power: 3527 | Gators, Tide, and Dawgs All Make WCWS #1 seed Florida, #4 seed Alabama, and #6 seed Georgia will all make the trip to represent the SEC at the 2009 Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. Each team swept their opponent in just 2 games. UF beat #14 Cal 2-0 and 2-1, Bama beat Jacksonville State 9-0 and 9-0, and UGA beat #11 Ohio State 6-4 and 7-6.
They'll be joined at the WCWS by #3 Washington, #6 Arizona, #7 Michigan, #9 Arizona State, and the winner of the #2 UCLA and #12 Missouri series, which will likely be tied and going to a 3rd game this evening.
The SEC will be looking for its first ever National Championship in softball. Florida came within a single game of playing for it all last year, after digging out of the loser's bracket. The Pac-10 has owned it, with 20 total National Championships since it started in 1982.
Congrats to all the teams; and good luck in finally getting us a NC. |
