| The idiotic proponents of the TSWRA chant ruined it. This isn't a case of the school being PC against the song but a way to stop an idiotic and cheer that can is fairly racist on its face. But for the morons in the student section and the mindless fools in the rest of the stadium that chant ignorantly those words, From Dixie With Love would still be played postgame. And actually, according to the supposed insider on the Scout.com forums, FDWL will still be played pregame, just not postgame, unless this has changed since I read the post from the guy who heard it from the cheerleader. | ||

| Hence why I said mindless fools in the rest of the stadium. I didn't put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the students. There are students that don't say it because they have a brain just as there are alumni that don't say it because they have a brain. Fact of the matter is, if you said Ole Miss Will Rise Again, nobody would give a damn. By saying inserting "The South" instead, you create a problem that everyone that says it is not oblivious to it but just does it like a bunch of mindless drones anyway. People also chanted this inane "kiss my ass" rhetoric when Chancellor Khayat banned sticks thus preventing the widespread waving of the Confederate battle flag in games, but you know what, it was the right thing to do and outside of a few 'tards that refuse to acknowledge adverse effects of such an act, everyone agrees now. | ||

| Fact is, I do not say "The South Will Rise Again" and would be happy to say OM Will Rise Again, but it is chanted before and after the national media cameras are off of the Rebs so I do not see where it is that big of a deal. It is very important to a lot of alumni and I think Dan Jones would be an idiot for getting rid of it. He is a Mississippi College grad and can be excused for not knowing a whole lot about Ole Miss tradition. | ||

| I am a student too. The song is cool, and I love the tradition. However, even Tubberville said that it was hard to recruit because of old south symbols like rebel flags, dixie, and colonel reb. Now, before we were winning I would've been the first to fight for the traditions, but now I just like winning too much. I have been a student for the James Meredith statue going up and the debates and I know that the majority of us aren't racist, but if the national media thinks we are, and espn broadcasts it, then how are we going to continue to build on our success. I will play dixie in my tent in the grove, but if not playing it at the game helps our image and recruiting then so be it. I kind of enjoyed last season and I want repeat success and good recruiting classes. Sorry for all the run on sentences. | ||

| I agree partially with what you say but If we want to play From Dixie With Love before and after the cameras are aimed at us what is wrong with that? I have witnessed black player yelling "TSWRA" and If I honestlly felt it hurt recruiting I would be glad to stop it. But if those players do not feel it is racist why should we stop FDWL? If a black player is just as willing to yell it as a white player why is it wrong? Why is it not seen as healing racial divides? TSWRA is not a racial thing as much as an attitude that The South will again be a prominent part of this country. I love our black players as much as anybody else and if they want this stopped I will be the first one to try and stop it. If not I hope From Dixie With Love lives on for many years to come! | ||

There are players that don't approve of it and there are certainly parents that disapprove of the players doing it. It's a black eye regardless of how you want to classify it as some sort of socioeconomic revival (which is a joke). You want FDWL (a long standing tradition) then you get rid of this joke of a new tradition in TSWRA. It's fairly simple. | ||

| Half of the reason to go to the games was to hear FDWL and get those goosebumps. Gameday won't be the same without it.... | ||

| The only way to stop TSWRA is to stop from Dixie with Love. Here is my suggestion. Stop playing it for a few games and then word will quickly get around that we can't play it anymore because folks won't drop TSWRA. Most people who say it probably don't realize its impact. Try playing it again towards the middle of the season to see if folks caught on. If TSWRA has vanished, reward us with more FDWL | ||
