I've heard of kids commiting early but this is just ridiculous. I guess he really wanted to be a rebel. Does he have a sibling on the team.

No sibling but Coach Wilson can get a good grip on most any recruit in New Orleans after his long tenure of coaching in the city as well as serving as the city's athletic director.

Really. I thought it was kind of silly to discuss '08 commitments this early, since the trend these days is to commit to one school, then another, and another; before finally deciding you'll sign with a different one than the previous 3. I won't even look at UF's '08 class this early, because I know half of them won't play for the Gators. Who knows what will happen in two years?

The advantage of getting them on their sophomore year of high school is that you can go ahead and press the grades issue. Ken Davis who is a Rivals 250 out of Tupelo, MS signed as a sophomore but was actually a freshman in academic terms due to some poor grades and illness. By getting in on him early, the coaches were able to construct a curriculum of summer school and correspondance courses that would allow him to be able to graduate with the rest of his age group.
