Well, the game that no one in the South cares about outside of Lexington and Nashville is upon us. I kid, I kid. Kentucky-Vandy is one of the best rivalry games in the conference. There's just not any Vandy fans on here to validate that statement. The series stands at what....39-39-2 all-time? Doesn't get more even than that.
The big story here is that Mike Hartline is supposedly able to play this week. Morgan Newton has been getting progressively better....who's CRB gonna start in Nashville Saturday?
Doesn't mean much for Vandy other than the excitement of knowing it is the only game with the an opportunity for a win in the SEC. But for KY this game means everything and is the 'must win' game of the season. The MSU game was a must win from the perspective of going to a better bowl game. This game is a must win just to get to a bowl game and maintain momentum for the future.
Vandy has a good D but their offense is simply horrendous. If KY has Cobb, Locke, Micah at 100% and Newton plays well (see 'doesn't lose the game') then KY will win along the lines of 27-13.
Since we have little or no Vanderbilt representation, I thought I'd start the game thread w/ a Vandy avatar since it's in their house.
There are two games on the schedule that I hate more than any other. One is MSU. The other is Vandy. Both teams are always thirsting for a win against UK and consider us a "winnable" game. We think likewise of them. All three teams are typically fighting to not be the lowest in the cellar. This one is no different.
UK better patch up that run D. UK also needs Locke and Cobb back in a BIG way. The QB play must be steady, if not stellar. I worry about Hartline coming back this soon, but he may ready. At least Newton has some game experience, so if he's needed, he won't be totally lost.
At least that sumbitch DJ Moore is gone. He friggin' killed us last year.
Even though Vandy is ALWAYS dangerous to UK, I still think the Cats should and will win.

Cobb's cast is off. Locke is supposedly ready to go. I think we win if these two guys play the whole game.
The defense MUST play better than they did against MSU. There's just no way around that. Another early kick for the Cats. It'll be 11:30 CST. That's just crazy. Their breakfast will barely be digested!
I'm still pretty salty about our defensive showing against the Bulldogs, but I think CRB was right when he said we were "outphyiscaled." They flat out whipped us on the lines. Whether they are better there or not, there was no mistaking who was that day. They owned us.
