Should be a pretty good game between two teams who have nothing to lose at this point. I think it'll be a shoot out. I like the way we match up with Arkansas a lot more than the way we matched up with UT. Gotta give the nod to Arkansas at home though.
Home has not been an advantage for Arkansas in a long time. If we were playing in Little Rock I'd agree with you. I think if the Gamecocks get pressure on Mallett we lose. If the Hogs can get pressure on Garcia you lose. If neither happens it may be a 7OT game.
USC losing Cliff Matthews on the D Line is a positive for Arkansas. That's going to put more pressure on Norwood to get to the qb, hopefully we will be able to double him or use a back to help on him to slow down USC's pass rush. I think we'll use some screens and swing passes to slow their rush early. Having Joe Adams back is a huge plus as well.
The negative is our Defense. Unless its a spread, we can't defend it. Decent against the run, but if we don't get pressure on Garcia with our front 4, our secondary will be picked apart. Really, the first few plays I'd just have Garcia drop back and throw it as far as he can. Odds are pretty good someone will be open and catch it.
We still have Clifton Geathers and Devin Taylor on the edge. Gonna be a lot of passing in this game though. The league's top two passers going head to head. Should be fun to watch if nothing else. What is y'all's injury situation?
One thing that scared me was that Garcia threw the ball 50 times in the UT game. Our secondary is gonna need to have their best game of the season if Garcia throws it 50 times.

I don't think we're missing any real contributors this week. Michael Smith sat out last week to rest his hamstring a little more, but other than that I can't think of anyone that will be out Saturday.
Just wonder which team for the Hogs is going to show up.. just hope it's the one that played against Florida and Auburn. Still should be a great game to watch, can't wait.
If Petrino is smart he'll only throw the ball 10-15 times. That may even be too much. We can't stop anyone from running all over us. I'd just give it to Smith, Green, and Wingo 10-15 times each. You'll win by 30.
Spurrier does coach that team. They are gonna throw it around alot. Looking at the defensive stats we actually have more sacks on the season than SC, and rank higher at stopping the run. The problem is we can't stop the deep pass. Should be an entertaining game.
PASSING AVG/GAME Cl G Comp-Att-Int Pct. Yards TD Long Avg/G
1. Ryan Mallett-AR SO 8 129 - 237 - 3 54.4 2148 18 78 268.5
2. Stephen Garcia-SC 9 176 - 307 - 5 57.3 2094 12 69 232.7
I didn't realize USC was flinging the ball around this much. Granted, y'all have played one more game than us, but Garcia has 70 more attempts. So in 1 fewer game and 70 fewer attempts, Mallett has Garcia by 54 yards, 6 TD's and 2 Int's.
Mallett's pass efficiency is at 153.1, good enough for 2nd in the SEC at 0.6 behind babyjesustebow. Garcia is ranked 10th in pass efficiency at 124.3
