I know it's just under two weeks from now, but this isn't just any game, this isn't just a big game.... This is the damn Iron Bowl, son and it's never too early to talk about it.

Will we win this year? Probably not. Bama will roll into Jordan-Hare with a 11-0 record and one of the best squads seen in this conference in years, and that's saying something. Our talent and depth issues have been discussed ad nauseum. But this team of ours has shown flashes of being a very solid team and we're finally getting a week to rest and recuperate. Will that be enough? Like I said, probably not. But no matter the outcome, no matter how good or bad the 2009 Iron Bowl goes for my beloved Tigers, I'll still be a proud Auburn man. And I know that no matter how bad things may appear right now, the day is coming when we'll get back up. That's what it means to be an Auburn fan. You will get knocked down, but you get back up and you keep coming no matter what. War Damn Eagle!

Coming from a family of all Bama and Auburn fans, I look forward to this game every year, especially since I don't really have any skins in the game. Although I am very partial to the Egg and Magnolia (MSU and LSU) Bowls, and hope the Houston Nutt Bowl continues with Arkansas, there is no question that the Iron Bowl is the single greatest rivalry game in the SEC and probably the country. I think the South's Oldest Rivalry, the Third Weekend in October, and the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party are all great in their own right, but the Iron Bowl is where it is at.
