Wow. You guys are more confident than I am. I want to believe that we have turned the corner talent wise as well as with the coaching staff. Until I actually see it, I can't believe it. We have some areas of concern.

One obvious question is qb play, but that is linked to two things: 1. Is the real Stephen Garcia the talented football player we recruited or the headcase he's been since he got here. 2. Can the O-line block anybody.

If Garcia's not the guy, I really don't know where we go from there. Hillary and McCollum are unproven and green.

Another area I'm not real comfortable with is the secondary. Other than Darian Stewart (whose best position is spur), I don't think we have a lot of experience out there. Auguste/Whitlock both scare me a bit. Overall I think our corners are a little on the small side, despite being decent athletes.

I'd also like to see us make a big step forward in the discipline department, if nothing else on the field. Mistakes and penalties seem to plague us throughout the year. I'd also like to see us get off to a strong start, then sustain that as much as possible throughout the season. It seems like we start slow, hit our stride in the middle, then crash like the Hindenburg to end the season.

With all of those question marks, it's hard to say we'll blow out NC State on the road. There's a reason why some early lines have us a slight underdog. This NC State program at the end of the year last year was way different than the team we saw in Columbia. They're well coached and making progress. We won't be able to throw a bunch of picks and still win going away like we did last season. I expect a close game, with a Gamecocks win. I hope I'm right.

I did pick us to win by one touchdown, hardly a blowout. The only reason I think we will score thirty is that our offense has to be better than last year and we scored 34 then. I expect State's D to be their weak point.

If our offense scores 30 then I don't see a problem with the game. I can't see NC State scoring more than 30 on our Defense. Sure we have a few concerns on defense but they will be good, count on that. Not to mention NC State's best defensive player is out for the season.

Why not us?? South Carolina, 2010 SEC EAST CHAMPIONS!
