Default USC investigating possible violation by Joe McKnight
Report: USC tailback Joe McKnight has been seen driving SUV owned by California businessman - ESPN

USC tailback Joe McKnight has been driving a 2006 Land Rover owned by a Santa Monica, Calif., businessman, the Los Angeles Times reported on Friday.

USC is investigating McKnight's use of the vehicle to find out if it is in violation NCAA rules. It is against NCAA rules for athletes to have "extra benefits" based on their ability.

The Times reported McKnight has been seen driving the SUV, that the California Department of Motor Vehicles says is registered to Scott Schenter.

Schenter, 47, works in marketing and owns a company that registered a Web site called 4joemcknight.com.

If McKnight is in violation of NCAA rules, it could affect his eligibility. USC plays Boston College in the Emerald Bowl on Dec. 26 in San Francisco.

McKnight is the Trojans' leading rusher with 1,014 yards this season.

McKnight told the Times on Wednesday he has ridden in the Land Rover but never driven it. McKnight's girlfriend, Johana Michelle Beltran, works as a secretary for Schenter, he said.

McKnight and Beltran are the parents of a 10-month-old son, Jaiden. McKnight told the Times the Land Rover belonged to "my baby mama's boss."

Well hell he's got a whole website dedicated to his creepy love for McKnight, seems logical to me.

Holy God I thought you were making the "my baby mama's boss" line up. Alas, I see he actually said it. At that point does the story even need any additional commentary? Wow. Just wow.

What is this...the 5th huge puff of smoke coming from southern cal and improprieties in the last 5-6 years? I'll be shocked if anything comes of this based on recent history....everyone knows that program is dirty, Carroll & Co. are just the best in the biz at getting away with it by making sure there are no proveable direct ties to them.

I'm sure the NCAA will get around to ruling on this sometime over the next few decades.

2066 sounds like the year they will finally address these issues.

ESPN is scrambling to help So Cal find a large enough rug to sweep this under. Reggie Bush got away scott free, why wouldn't one think that Joe McKnight won't come away clean also.

Probably true... if not for USC success this decade, they might not have even bothered covering the Pac-10 at all.

The tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists need to at least decide on a bias for our friends at ESPN. I've heard about their bias for the ACC, Big 10, SEC, USC and the AARP. Forgetting how asinine all these accusations are, exactly how would a sports network help the NCAA sweep anything under the rug? Well in this case ESPN started by reporting on the investigation immediately. Huh, that really is a cover up.

As to the NCAA its inconsistencies are on record in countless examples throughout its history and those biases from member institutions are the actual problem.
