Default Dear Baseball.........
Why can't you end the first week of September? Not only would it prevent your overly-annoying SportCenter highlights from invading sacred football time, but it might even improve your standing among the millions of Americans that you make yawn every year.

Seriously, why do you need a hundred and sixty games to determine a champion? Not only does it marginalize the importance of a single game, but it diminishes the only real rivalry (Yankees/RedSox) you have in the entire league. It's embarrassing to think the weather conditions of the championship series is bigger news than the series itself.

And what's worse about your post-season is that your highlights are ridiculously detailed. Now we get to see every foul tip and run-of-the-mill double play analyzed in brain-shattering detail.

By moving the World Series to the first week of September, you increase the importance of every game, minimize unplayable weather conditions, and concede valuable highlight time that football so rightly deserves.

Just something to think about...

Your Friend,

CK8

Agreed. The World Series needs to be in late September. I am sure the players love playing in 20 degree weather.

Come September I believe every sport should take a major back seat to football on the highlight shows. There is nothing more frusterating than having to sit through the highlights of the Marlins/Devil Rays (I think those are MLB teams) before Sportscenter FINALLY gives you a very, very brief run down of that football game you missed because you were at work.
13 National Titles
22 SEC Titles
57 Bowl Games
32 Bowl Victories
GOT TRADITION?

Exactly my thoughts. October is the best sports month of the year. The MLB playoffs some years have a few of the most exciting games of the year. The NHL returns. College football is in full swing and reaching its peak. The NFL matchups are starting to mean a whole lot more. And for those of you who care a lot about basketball you get the return of college and pro ball (or at least a whole lot of camp and preseason talk).

I agree, but I could care less this year because the Braves missed the playoffs once again.

If they get another big bat and a capable arm in the bullpen, next season looks promising.

Yea Tider if management will pull off a couple of moves in the offseason then the Braves are gonna be contenders next year. Especially if they will start the season the way they played the last quarter of the season.

Might as well go ahead and tell the Yanks to order their rings this year, aint nobody gonna beat them 4 outta 7.

Yeah and I think Wren knows they're only a couple of players away. They're going to have a interesting situation with Prado and Johnson at 2nd, but I'm not convinced Prado can be a every day player quite. I'd like for them to make a run at Jason Bay but I doubt it will happen. It's interesting because Anderson is a free agent, so we'll be looking for a LF either way. Holiday would obviously be the dream player but he'll be asking for too much, and then we have LaRoche who I think they'll sign back.

Yep a lot of things to discuss, but who cares at this point...football season is king.
