Glavine will miss his scheduled first start against the Pirates on Saturday after experiencing some discomfort in his shoulder in his last outing in double A. No idea if this is long term bad news for him or not, he is visiting Dr. James Andrews today. In the meantime the Braves are going to bring up Jo Jo Reyes to start Saturday.... UGH. Just bring up Hanson already... good god, do we have to resign ourselves to a loss just because we don't want to pay Hanson?
1) I'm ready to see Hanson pitch, but when it comes to pitching I'll take the side of Bobby Cox and Roger McDowell and their decision any day.
2) Everything I've read suggests that Reyes has been much improved this off season, but my question is this- Why not Campillo? Guy is young, in his prime, and he could be a top starter by season's end....
Baseball is such a calm sport but nothing can get my blood boiling like the Braves can. If these guys arent even the Marlins #1 0r #2 pitchers how can we expect to win this division?
i've been out of the country for awhile and i was delighted to see us in first place as i return. with my luck, they'll start a losing streak now that i can actually watch them again.

Welcome back, bro...
I hope you're wrong... we're looking pretty sharp as of now, you'll notice the dramatic change in our offensive production the first time you turn on the screen. Francouer is having good, long at-bats, Johnson has found some power, the rookie Schafer is looking great at the plate.
The braves lineup this year with francouer improving and jordan schafer off to a good start is great, but if the bullpen is as bad as last year's the braves are looking at a sub .500 year. I still cant believe we have 90% of our horrible bullpen back from last year. The only new one is O'flaherty who has been pretty good. Soriano could be a great setup man if he can stay ahead in the count. A straight fastball pitcher like him cant afford to throw it over the middle of the plate. If they can keep from blowing 40% of their saves like last year we will take the division. Lets sweep the marlins!!!
Anybody watching the game right now? It is pretty interesting. Vasquez has allowed 3 runs on 5 hits but hasn't gotten the fielding he deserves IMO. The man has 12 Ks through 6 innings of work. Hes done for the day but really put on a good performance. Too bad the bats aren't working for the Braves tonight. Only a Kelly Johnson homer has put them on the board.
And the bullpen blows it again! I am disgusted! How does one bullpen continue to walk with the bases loaded, beam guys, and allow the other team to take batting practice? Changes need to be made or we are going to finish next to last in the division. I'm going to the game tomorrow and hopefully we can put it together and prevent the sweep in our own house.
I did not get to catch the game tonight, did the pen really blow another one? WTH are they gonna do about this, I hope the higher ups see the potential in this team and at least pull up the kid D was talking about.
