He's just a temporary solution, as Griffey would have been. We're not looking for a young guy, because Anderson is just a fill-in until Jason Heyward is ready to make the move to the big show. He's an absolute stud and the future of our outfield, along with Jordan Schafer. Both of them will be starting in 2010.

i like the pick up but it is only temporary...its not like he was highly sought after but i think he can contribute since our outfield is pretty much non exsistent at the moment...

I agree. They could not get Griffey, so they decided to get another over the hill injury prone lefty. He has always been productive when healthy, so I hope he can stay that way.

Strained calf. He will likely miss a week, so it's not a big injury but an injury nonetheless. That's the downfall with signing older players. They have these small, nagging injuries that never seem to go away.
