i agree...its the knee jerk thing....alot of state fans are calling for stans to be fired which is stupid. however, in their defense, they have been doing this for a while for reasons i have listed above. stans is a good head guy, but hes not a great or really good coach. hes just average. hes a helluva recruiter, but man, hes screwed the pooch agian on the x's and o's side of the game.

You know how embarrassing it is to be in Iraq and brag to your fellow soldiers how great of a B-ball you will have this year and fall on your face to RIDER in the first game? It's pathetic, simply pathetic. Stans = good guy, great recruiter, below average coach. He's never been an X and O coach or an in-game adjusting coach, but this is just ridiculous He better get that talented team on track. I was hoping this would be the year that he FINALLY makes it to the Sweet 16. This sucks. Well, Go Dawgs, beat the Tide.

When State was on offense last night and Rider switched to a 2-3 zone, State just looked lost. That's why Rider stayed in it most of the second half, and that is why they are the ones celebrating.

i think we are in a tough spot with stans. i think hes done a helluva job getting us to the ncaa tourney half the time and putting banners in the hump, but he simply isnt that great of a coach. what do you do? take a chance and lose all that we have build up the past decade + or fire the guy and take your chances.....i dunno, tough call. whatever happens, i trust byrn to make the right call. hes a top notch ad.

I'm really not trying to rub it in but I haaaaaaaate those weekends!

I'm currently enjoying the flipside of the situation with a UK basketball win, a UK football win, Bengals over the Steelers, a UK women's basketball win and tomorrow night the men's team has a chance to make it a perfect 5-0 for me on the extended weekend.

You will be back to enjoying a similar weekend soon enough.

At least you didn't lose to a bunch of smart kids who are more then likely just playing basketball for fun.

Terrible game. We were up big early, too. Barry Stewart is much more suited for a reserve roll. I hope he doesn't start anymore. I think we need to go bigger and put Osby in the lineup and just pound it in. Varnado desperately needs a solid backup because he looked winded the entire time he was in the game. Riek won't be eligible for another eight games and Bailey is still hurt. We always lose to a crappy team or two early so it's nothing major, in my opinion. I still think we can pull it together and be a tough team. We play our best basketball during the conference season.
Maybe not.

Wendell Lewis isn't ready for college basketball yet. He needs to be redshirted. I do think he can be a solid player down the road, though.
Maybe not.
