im not ready to say this was a great game, but much improved...but i also think it had alot to do with the competition. torbush should def keep the pressure turned up. that def was a key to success, and i would say even roll the dice a lil more when lsu and ga tech come calling...we will need the pressure...vandy wansnt a power run team necessarily, but def a run first team....so lets not forget the lessons learned from auburn. keep the pressure up and the box stacked and well be fine. fast on the corners will be important and several tacklers on the edge will be key....take notes torbush.

There is no question that Vandy is not as good as Auburn , but MSU's defense looked entirely different from the one who played on their heels last week.

Against Auburn the Bulldog defense looked to be going backward , while last night in Nashville They attacked and put a lot of pressure on the Vandy offense.

I realize MSU has a lot of growing to do to become a good football team , but I think They and Coach Mullen took a good step in that direction with this win.

much improved but our secondary is still very suspect...zach smith is still a huge liability in coverage and so is anderson...we'll see what happens i guess...

GO DAWGS!!!

We had a 4 man front most of the game like we should have against Auburn. Zach Smith was MUCH improved. His blitzing kept the QB on his heels the whole game and led to some sacks. He even had a nice pass deflection. Our D did great, but Vandy sure did drop alot of balls. We shoulda had at least 5 more points, but I'll take the win.

This is a huge confidence builder for LSU.

Oh, and Leon Berry is such a weapon. He is a better return man than Pegues was.

True. But i do think Berry will eventually be better as a returner than Pegues. I really like Berry, he plays really hard.

berry is a game changer on special teams....huge, huge weapon....berry > pugues on special teams. if it wasnt for that idiotic hold on a man that had no chance or whatever they called on the first play, we would have won comfortably and probably see an entirley different game.

i do think berry has more talent as a return guy than pegues...pegues was very good but he had a ton of opportunities where he ran straight into the wedge...that has to do with him and how bad our special coaching has been the last 5 years...berry will break on this year and he never goes down without a real fight...

GO DAWGS!!!

Berry should have had one already. That holdiong call was BS. Cam Lawerence threw his guy to the ground and then went on to the next and was called for holding. Berry is a weapon for sure i just hope we get him more shots with the ball on the OFF side as well.
"It just felt like the right place for me. Coach Mullen is bringing an exciting offense to Mississippi State and I want to be part of that. With our class coming in and with the guys already there, it is going to be ridiculous." - Montrell Conner

Lawerence was guilty of holding on that KO return. He grabbed the Vandy guy and wrestled him to the ground. That move is going to get the flag every time.

Now , I will say that I think Berry would have scored anyway and it is a shame that We did hold.
