Beware of the Dog. Bulldogs inside.
No doubt, the LB crew we have will be pretty darn good. That is if Chaney can come back 100%.
"It just felt like the right place for me. Coach Mullen is bringing an exciting offense to Mississippi State and I want to be part of that. With our class coming in and with the guys already there, it is going to be ridiculous." - Montrell Conner

Our offense is garbage and has been garbage since Norwood left, but I'm willing to deal with us being mediocre next year if our defense is an iron curtain.
After that, I want an "iron curtain" defense and a decent to awesome offense... but like I said about Cohen, I'm willing to give Mullen a year or two.
the thing about our defense next year is torbush is going to blitz...wright should be an absolute beast in our new defense....i think chaney will come back strong since he is moving back to his natural position outside our d-line is going to be better but still has some growing to do...the question will be on the corners....we are probably going to leave our DBs on some islands and if they respond like the 07 ones did, we will be very good on defense...
i think mcphee and wright are going to be key in getting pressure on the QB...i wouldne be surprised if there was a push from a pass rusher like stigers or ferguson or somebody like that....
I agree West. With langston and HOPEFULLY AJ back we will have a pretty solid CB crew. If we get pressure on the Qb like we did in 07 our D will look good again. Last year we were lacking the rushing presence we had in 07. I think Cox will play early on and will help us alot along with McPhee. Dont forget we have Love comming back that will help with us to stuff the run and Boyd will help that as well. If the rumor is true about Hardy going back to the D line i think he will help us out alot and keep some guys fresh.

where did you hear about hardy going back??...also, what do you think will happen to arceto clark??...will he stay on offense or go back to CB??...im not terribly worried about the interior DL as much as a pass rush off the ends...
Im not 100% sure that Hardy will be going back to the Dl but thats what i have been hearing. I think our ends will be fine with Cox,McPhee, and ferguson(sp). Im not sure about Clark at this time. He may get a shot at WR or maybe even be in the nickel or dime package?

Nash Nance- A 6'3 205 QB from Calhoun, Ga got his first SEC offer today from State! He will be one to watch he will get and has already gotten alot of attention from some big time schools. Mullen knows him from talking with him last year and Mullen called his day today to tell him that he has an offer from Mississippi State. He says we are not in the lead but this puts him up there. Barry Brunetti- QB from Memphis,TN. He plays high school at Memphis University School. I heard that they hold everyone a year behind. This means that he really would be a senior this year but with them holding everyone back he is only a junior this season. He looks to have great footwork and can throw almost any pass from his highlight reel. He currently holds offers from Memphis, Duke, and now State. We offered him tonight! This guy looks to be a great ath. and QB.
