Default LSU Fall Fest Friday, Oct. 9
LSU Fall Fest is this Friday, October 9, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the LSU Quadrangle, and ESPN's Gameday will be setting up on the Parade Grounds.

LSU Fall Fest offers entertainment, activities, and free food for students, faculty, and staff. This year, LSU Fall Fest will feature The Golden Band from Tigerland, LSU Golden Girls, the National Pan-Hellenic Council Greek Yard Show, and special appearances by Mike the Tiger and LSU Chancellor Michael V. Martin.

The Exxon Quad will be dedicated to a concurrently held Meet Your Advisor Fair, where first-year and transfer students can meet academic advisors from each of the University’s colleges and schools and learn about research opportunities and student projects.

LSU Fall Fest 2009 is committed to sustainability. Join us as we use fewer nonrenewable products, compost and recycle waste at the event, launch the LSU Green Tiger Project, and unveil LSU UREC’s green treadmills. Here are some tips so you can compost and recycle at LSU Fall Fest2009:

Compost food leftovers, paper napkins and food trays, and wax beverage or ice cream cups.

Recycle empty plastic cups and bottles, aluminum cans, cardboard, and bulk paper.

Trash plastic utensils and cup lids, styrofoam food cartons and cups, and pens and pencils.

Look to this week’s Daily Reveille or www.lsu.edu/fallfest for an event map featuring:
• more than 50 booths on display
• free food and beverage offerings
• entertainment at the Cox Stage and LSU Fall Fest Photo Booth
• recycling and composting stations

This event always demonstrates the University’s Commitment to Community through the generous help of many dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are still needed for food service and postevent cleanup. Please contact Holly Carruth, Fall Fest volunteer coordinator, at hcarruth@lsu.edu to get involved.

LSU Fall Fest 2009 is brought to you by Cox Communications, Coca-Cola, Raising Cane’s, LSU Dining, Campus Federal, the LSU Bookstore, and Kentwood Springs.

We hope to see you Friday!

I lost a bet so here's my new sig for awhile.
