I guess people have forgotten that saban made lsu what it is lulz
Another prime example right here.
Yes, Saban turned a struggling LSU program around but Miles has done as good and in some regards even better than did Saban. By continuing to ignore the facts you are only making yourself look foolish.

not that any of it really matters. but comparing and contrasting any two coaches is a waste of time. the only way you could really compare the two is place Miles as the head coach who took over Dinardo's mess instead of taking over a successfully built powerhouse.

I'm not comparing how either of them built LSU, that is a subjective matter and is open to debate. What I compared was actual on the field results. That is why I say in many regards Miles is just as good or better than Saban. That being the case, it's absurd for anyone to contend that Saban is a football genius wile Miles is an idiot. No idiot can have the success at any SEC school that Miles has had wile at LSU. This conference does not suffer fools.
Saban is not as good as many believe, wile Miles is not as bad. Both are good coaches that have their strengths and weaknesses. I base this opinion on their actual records. Once you step back and look at them both objectively, not as a fan of anything, you see that both have had their share of success, but at the same time both have had their share of what must be considered not so successful seasons.
I know this may pain many Bama & LSU faithful alike, but the truth of the matter is that both coaches are very similar. I know that many Bama fans want to believe that Saban is the second coming of the Bear, but objectively I must say that nothing in Saban's record indicates that he will come close to the degree of success that Bryant enjoyed. Instead, Saban's record indicates to me that he will have some success at Bama, perhaps even a national championship, however he appears to have a tendency to have a good deal of what has to be considered middle of the pack or even disappointing seasons along with some pretty lop-sided defeats in key SEC games. Miles record indicates that he will pretty much be the same. .
Well, let's keep in mind that the 2 coaches didn't exactly take over similar programs, either. When Saban got to LSU, they had been the anus of the conference for over a decade... I mean they were terrible in the '90's; like 58-65-1 (.472) from '89-'99. The only teams worse than LSU in that time period were USC, Vandy, and UK. They weren't "struggling"... they flat out stunk up the place. Look at these season records before Saban: 4-7, 5-6, 5-6, 2-9, 5-6, 4-7, 7-4-1, 10-2, 9-3, 4-7, 3-8. If not for those couple of anomalous seasons in the middle, it'd have really been ugly.
When Miles got there, LSU was already back to being a powerhouse team, with 2 SEC titles, 1 National title, and a boatload of talent.
So, I wouldn't say Miles has done a better job than Saban at all. I'd say Saban did one helluva job turning a doormat into a powerhouse; and Miles has done a decent job of keeping them that way.
In fact, I'd venture to say that if Miles had taken over the team that Saban did, they still wouldn't have won any more SEC or National Championships... they'd still be struggling. Everything LSU is today, Miles owes to Saban. Look what Miles did with his own lousy program, OSU: If Miles could turn a loser into a National contender, he'd have done it with them. Instead he went 4-7, 8-5, 9-4, and 7-5; and went 1-2 in bowl games. They improved, but he didn't make Champions out of a perennial loser like Saban did.
I agree with some points but I hardly believe that OSU has the resources LSU has. And don't forget that Miles beat 2 very powerful Oklahoma teams while at OSU.

Contrary to popular belief. Dinardo had alot of talent on LSU's team. He just was hard headed as hell and would not let go of Lou Tepper. It's been awhile but i seem to remember LSUs offense putting up alot of points but could stop no one with Tepper's goofball defense. Saban did great things at LSU and for that i am greatful. But the perception that Saban took over a talentless team as flawed to see the least.
