Lsu "Chavis gives us some confidence.”
Quote:
Said Jacob Cutrera, “As of right now, we’ve got three linebackers staying in for every personnel. That’s good for us. (Chavis) gives us some confidence.”
Said linebacker Perry Riley, “Chavis told me personally, ‘If I can find three linebackers who can do it, I’m going to have my linebackers out there all the time. There’s no need for me to take you all out. I want you to be the heart and strength of the defense.”
LSU will stay in the 4-3 look (four linemen, three linebackers) it had for years. However, the emphasis will be on less swapping out, less trying to get into nickel coverage (with one extra defensive back and one less linebacker). Riley said, after the first day, Chavis told him he’s already seen the three linebackers who could make this work.
Schiefelbein: Tigers LBs taking new approach

I like what I'm hearing so far! Chavis seems to not only have a great plan, but he also seems to think he has the personnel to accomplish it with!
