I see my freedom from across the way
And it comes right in on time

Van Morrison gives some hardcore LSU fans an idea of what it will be like when LSU’s once vaunted defense will return to glory. And it will.
I think it may be an understatement that the Co- Defensive Coordinator project was/is a failure in its first year under Coach Les Miles. This year’s defense has more holes in it than Aza's ex-girlfriend’s story about where she was the night before they broke up. The tackling is horrendous, the coverage weak at best. The linebackers look slow and the defensive line play has been very underwhelming with the exception of Rahim Alem.
Now the good news, LSU is loaded with talent. With a little discipline and more aggressive play calling we can see the defense that has ended the year ranked in the top ten in most statistical categories every year since 2002. Though this season was a disappointment I am not ready to throw Miles under the bus. Miles’s strength has never been X’s and O’s, it has been his ability to manage the program like a CEO manages a company. His successes in hiring top-notch coordinators made everyone turn a blind eye to the curious decision to name co-defensive coordinators. Oh well, he gets a mulligan coming off a National Championship. However, his next defensive hire MUST be a good one. Make sure it is the right hire. Coach Miles’s record speaks for itself when it comes to hiring coordinator (except this co project).
LSU has a bright future. LSU has loads of talent on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. A great offensive mind is calling the plays. A recruiting class coming in that may be the best LSU has ever had on paper. So Tiger fans have faith and let's hope Miles rights the ship, otherwise, the Bayou faithful will be on his azz like an alligator after a baby nutria.
I lost a bet so here's my new sig for awhile. |
