LSU is installing new scoreboards at its eight athletic facilities, a $7.2 million project that will be capped off by an 80-foot-wide, high-definition video screen in Tiger Stadium for the 2009 football season. The board, which will be installed above the north end zone, will be one of the largest in college sports, LSU says. Athletic Director Joe Alleva says the new boards will give fans information and entertainment with the latest technology. The athletic department and the Tiger Athletic Foundation are paying for the project. The first step, adding four new video displays and an LED display ring to the top of the scoreboard in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, has already been finished. Other facilities that are getting improvements are the new Alex Box Stadium, new Tiger Park, Bernie Moore Track Stadium, LSU Natatorium, Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium and LSU Soccer Complex.
