BATON ROUGE -- After Saturday’s 100-play scrimmage in Tiger Stadium, LSU coach Les Miles surprised his squad by calling a post-scrimmage meeting at the Indoor Practice Facility to hand out LSU’s BCS National Championship rings.

With the entire team looking on, Miles opened the meeting by having the squad re-live the 2007 season by watching a highlight video from the season.

Following the video, defenders Tyson Jackson and Ricky Jean-Francois along with offensive lineman Brett Helms and Herman Johnson helped unveil the 2007 National Championship Banner that will be on permanent display in LSU’s Indoor Practice Facility.

Miles and his staff then handed out the championship rings with Miles distributing them to the seniors and team captains.

“This was a great team,” Miles told the squad after the ceremony. “The accomplishments of the 2007 team will be something that we will always remember. Don’t forget how hard you worked and the dedication it took to achieve this.”

LSU’s BCS National Championship ring is silver and features the number “1” in a football-shaped stone in the center of the ring. The wording “National Champions” is featured on the top of the ring surrounding the stone.

On one side of the ring reads, “LSU Tigers and SEC Champs” with the LSU helmet. The other side of the ring features the players name along with LSU’s record of 12-2 and the BCS National Championship Logo.

Very few get such an experience! Nice!
