BATON ROUGE -- A walk-off three-run home run by Shannon Stein in the bottom of the eighth inning gave No. 15 LSU the doubleheader sweep of Arkansas, 4-0 and 8-6, on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Tiger Park.
With the senior presentations coming a day early because of the threat of a rain out on Sunday, Stein made the post-game event much more of a joyous occasion. The senior came through with the game-winning hit on just her second home run of the season and only her third homer in three years with the Tigers.
“It was kind of like a storybook day if you were ever going to script a Senior Day,” said LSU head coach Yvette Girouard. “It was a tough one to lose if you’re Arkansas, but we have been on the bad end of that a lot this year.”
