NEW YORK -- On Saturday at Radio City Music Hall, LSU All-America defensive tackle Glenn Doresy became the 30th first-round pick in school history when he was selected No. 5 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL Draft.



Doresy, the most decorated defensive player in LSU football history, extended to five years a streak of Tigers picked in the first round. In 2007, four Tigers were taken in the first round including No. 1 pick JaMarcus Russell by the Oakland Raiders. All four -- Russell, LaRon Landry (Washington Redskins), Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) and Craig Davis (San Diego Chargers) -- became rookie starters. The seven-round draft continues throughout the afternoon today and continues on Sunday live on ESPN

As a KC fan , I am thrilled to see Dorsey go to the Chiefs. Some are saying He is the best defensive player in the draft since Warren Sapp.

Now adding Branden Albert to Dorsey gives KC 2 of the best linemen in the draft.

Even better........The NFL scout I have the most respect for (Chris Landry) has gone on record saying that He considered Glenn Dorsey "the best player in the draft".
