Tiger Stadium Scoreboard Graphics Updated
BATON ROUGE -- The backs of the LSU football scoreboards in Tiger Stadium have a new look as the installation of the new materials has been completed by Lamar Advertising. Lamar started the process of installing the new scoreboard backs last week. The south endzone scoreboard prominently recognizes LSU’s national championships in football from 1958, 2003 and 2007.
The wording “National Champions” on the south scoreboard is in purple letters with “1958” and “2003” being in white. The year “2007” is displayed in gold. The north endzone scoreboard simply states “LSU” with “Tiger Stadium” listed underneath. The north endzone scoreboard is purple with the LSU lettering in gold and Tiger Stadium in white.
The covering on the back of the scoreboards are made of a vinyl and mesh material and were designed by Jason Feirman of the LSU Sports Information Department. “We have to replace the south endzone scoreboard every two years because of the amount of sun that it gets during the day and over time, it causes the material to fade,” LSU associate athletic director Eddie Nunez said. “The north endzone doesn’t get as much sun, so replacing it comes every three years.” Nunez said the cost to replace the backs of both scoreboards were $13,000 each
