Game starts in 4 hours. I'll be down there. Coach Cal said he might start Darius at PG in Wall's place tonight. I expect us to win handily of course, but I'm real interested to see what are strength's are and what areas we have to significantly improve in.

I know speed of game won't be a problem...we can run the ball, but I wanna see how our press holds up and if we can lock it down on defense.

Absolutely, but I'm down here in Alabama. Same holds true here.

Yep. We looked pretty sloppy at Big Blue Madness and the Blue-White game, but Coach Cal specifically told our guys to not block anyone if they go for a layup or dunk, no sense in getting hurt in a practice. This game is pretty much a glorified practice, so I only expect our defense intensity in the paint to go up slightly.


On a related note, Coach Cal has said this is the only time he'll be doing exhibition games. He's going to do private scrimmages against other D-1 schools instead starting next year. Campbellsville and Clarion were already on the books, so he's honoring those agreements.

I like the scrimmage plan but would prefer to keep one in-state school on the exhibition card to share the wealth a bit.

I saw a little bit of this game. I was flipping back and forth between this game and the Bobcats game(talk about two exciting games to watch). I only wanted to watch to see John Wall and i was dissappointed when i found out he wasnt playing. So then i tried to focus on Bledsoe and Cousins and both guys looked very promising as they should. Just 10 more days til the real thing starts. I know you UK fans share my excitement.

I'm excited about the season but wish there were more then ten days to get ready. We are young and on a learning curve but fortunately there is enough talent available to make that curve less painful.

John Wall is playing Friday against Clarion, then sitting out our season opener v Morehead State. Then it's on like Simon LeBonne.
