Kentucky It keeps getting better and better!!!
Henrys may pass on KU - College Basketball - Rivals.com

Holy crap....that'd mean Kentucky has the #1,2, & 3 ranked recruits. Coach Cal stated at the SEC Coaches teleconference that our roster isn't finalized yet. He's also stated that someone is probably gonna be gone from the team soon. We have an available scholarship right now. During Xavier's recruiting process it was apparent that he really wanted to play for Coach Cal, but his momma wanted him to go to Lawrence and his did is Carl Henry. For those of you who don't know who he is, he's a famous ex-Jayhawk hoopster.

Anyway....the family is meeting tonight to discuss what he's gonna do. He comes here, CJ comes as well. We can make room for him as well.

Sweet Jesus.....if this happens, this becomes the GREATEST RECRUITING CLASS IN HISTORY!

Straight from the horse's mouth:

Quote:
“If it wasn’t for his momma saying, ‘I wouldn’t move down to Kentucky,’ then Xavier would’ve been at Kentucky,” Carl Henry said. “So Xavier said, ‘I’m going to Kansas’ even though that is what he wanted to do, to go to Kentucky and play under Coach Calipari. I expressed that to Coach Self and told him.

This is obviously very serious. Front page of Kansas' rivals site says that Coach Self and Danny Manning are on a plane to OK City to convince the Henry's to go to Kansas.

You'll recall that Xavier signed his L.O.I. w/Memphis, and CJ played there until getting released to go to Kansas when Cal left for UK.

I'd by lying if I said I didn't think that the Henry family was a handful of egos. But as long as we can win games, I don't care. Cal knows how to deal w/these families.

So I'm basically talking to myself until Chalk sees this. A poster on TCP made an excellent point.

UK is in a win-win here. Either we get the Henrys here, which is apparently where they wanted to be this whole time (w/Coach Cal.) but instead did what momma wanted.

Or......the stay at Kansas, where all hell is breaking loose over this right now. Their team will take a big chemistry hit from this, believe that. I'm not saying Kansas will suck horribly over this, but I recall Rondo and Sparks not getting along here at UK in 05-06 and it definitely screwed us up. We were better than we played and it was completely noticeable. That team underachieved.

Eh....it happens all the time. I figured I'd post it so UKat and Architect can read it whenever they jump on here. Chalk will be along at some point to bring the Jayhawk point of view.

Maybe if I post a picture of a football in here, people will come.

lol....you best head to Jayhawk slant to find out. There is apparently a legit chance that the Henry's will drop their verbal to self and head to Lexington.

I was under the impression they had already signed? If they haven't this is definitely very big news for Kentucky. What's the scoop PT? These guys already have LOIs with Kansas or is it just a verbal?

They signed w/Memphis, remember? They aren't bound by any LOI to Kansas.

Honestly, Xavier is talented is hell, and I'd take him in a heartbeat. That said, he and his family is gonna either be Kansas' problem or ours. We don't really NEED him, but we could sure as hell use him.

I'm not sure what to think, but obviously, these are more than rumors if Coach Self is personally flying to OKC to talk to X and trying to convince him to stay verballed to Kansas.

One thing is certain....Carl Henry is a jackass.

He's a cocky muthaf.... seems to me that the parents are the ones causing a prob here. But them being alumni has to count for something. Self had better wrap this shit up and take care of bidness.

Don't get too excited yet Pudnin.... I've got a feelin' your gonna be dealin' me fits this year.

I loves me some drama like this. Especially if it's happening to Kansas!! We'll take Henry, bring him on!! Even if he's a bit of a problem, it keeps KU from having his talent...heh heh heh....

Exactly. I was hyped to begin w/....but when we're possibly screwing over Kansas, it makes it 10 times sweeter

FWIW, a bunch of different sites are now reporting that they're hearing it's a done deal...Xavier to Kentucky. CJ stays at Kansas.

Until I hear anything official, I'm treating it as a rumor that I hope to be true. CJ can walk-on here if he wants....he does have all that $ from Steinbrenner and the Yanks. Hell....put him out there at Cliff Hagan....Coach Henderson can put him to work for the Bat Cats too.

Anyway, that's the latest I've heard folks. I doubt we hear anything more than that til tomorrow.

Got bored, and was watching some football and basketball clips on YouTube. Hearing "Hail State" when we finally do something to own another team just gives me chills sometime.

Of course, PT will hear all the "Hail State" he can handle in Lexington AND Starkville next year.
