Take the Gator-Dawg pissing match outside my Kentucky football discussion!!!

Now then, I'm back from hiatus, and I know I have a lot of stuff to talk about concerning UK football, as I'm sure has been posted in my sted around here. Here's what I gotsta say:

A. If you haven't heard or read Dicky Lyons Jr's rant at Media Days, you need too. If you have, read it again mofo:
Quote:
“I actually had a dream about Matt Stafford last night. You want me to tell you the dream? I’ll tell you. Well, I just got engaged to my fiance and I’ve been having these crazy dreams about her leaving me. Cosmo says its natural. So I’m having this dream that she’s leaving me and I went out following her because, you know, I had suspicions. I find her at a bar and so up to her and trying to say, ‘What are you doing?’ and she tells me she doesn’t want to marry me so I’m trying to shake her and slap her to get her to focus. I turn around and Matt Stafford punches me in the nose and said, ‘You don’t hit women.’ All the sudden the backup quarterback that is now at Delta State, Blake Barnes, comes hitting me and I’m fighting all these quarterbacks from the Manning camp start jumping in. I was doing pretty well fighting them off, twisting their arms because I know all these Army Ranger moves in my dream. I was laughing about it so I texted (Stafford) and told him. He didn’t respond. I don’t know if he likes me that much.”
Bwahahahahahahaha! I love this guy!

B. Pulley....Pulley.....Pulley. Not keeping his head on straight is a clear pattern w/him. I can't sum it up any better than Roberto did 2 posts above. He has "it", he just doesn't get "it"

C. Fidler getting arrested as well sure as hell isn't helping out our program this week, eh Wildcats?

D. The only positive that has come out of all this, other than Dicky's great dream, was that the QB battle is over. You could tell just from TV interviews that Mike Hartline is a natural leader, and if he was giving Curtis more than a run for his money, I'm not sure this isn't a good thing anyway. Yeah, he may be a soph, may have to take some licks, but he's building towards the futuure.

Anyway, it's nice to see the national media talking about Kentucky football, even if it's for bad reasons.

I didn't mean to turning it into that... I was just trying to discuss Woodson, since he came up. Hopefully we can gravitate back towards the discussion at hand.

Since we ARE back on topic though, I have to ask... it was my impression that Pulley was the guy generally thought to be the Cats starter this year, as most thought he would win the starters job. Was this not the case?

I think what most of us expected to see was somewhat similar to the Leak-Tebow "experiment" (not really an experiment, it clearly worked) of 2 seasons ago. Hartline is def. more of a pure pocket passer, while Pulley def. can scramble and get mobile. You won't find anyone who's going to argue that Hartline comes across as more of a true leader in and outside of the huddle. Pulley's charges only corroborate that even more....you can't expect to be the leader of a SEC football team and have pending pot charges and no license/insurance issues as well.

Of course, this all depends on how Brooks decides to discipline Pulley. I have no idea what to expect. Certainly something more stringent than the ole "Tennessee treatment"

Sounds to me like Kentucky is shaping up to run an offense similar to last year, but we will have the benefit of being able to hand the ball off consistently for gain w/our stable of quality RB's, which will surely take some of the mental and actual pressure off the young Hartline.

Dicky Lyons Jr leads our receiving corps, so his tutoring and getting the rooks up to speed is going to be crucial for Hartline, and in turn, the entire Wildcat team's, success. I do like our defense, especially the secondary.

Good things are coming this year for the Wildcats. All we have to do is get the ball rolling by beatin Loserville in 35 days. I think it'll snowball from there, as the team builds up it's confidence.
