I hope not. Nothing worse than keeping a coach around that did not cut it. It will create division among the players, with some wanting to remain loyal to WM and others getting behind a new DC.

Also my .02 cents on CMR. I still have faith in this guy as our head coach, he still knows what it takes to win, however if he refuses to make changes to the staff and we have another bad year next year and he gets canned, well he asked for it. This is his chance to turn things around!

I don't think losing to Florida is ever better for us in the long run. I'll be back later, I'm going to go sob and wallow in my despair for a few more hours.

I'd rather just win. I don't have a rats' arse about anyone's dislike or vendetta against a coach. I just want to win. So no, losing to Florida in a massive arse raping is not better at all, in any sort of run, for this football program. If anything it further reinforces the sense of inferiority we have going up against the fricken lizards.

Hmmm...Richt is really in a pickle now. Lots of pressure to fire his college roomate and great friend. He's promised a recruit that CWM will be around next year, so his options are:
1) Lie to the recruit (wouldn't be a first, but this would require waiting until after NSD
to fire CWM...not gonna happen!)
2) Fire his BFF. (this could be tied in with #1)
3) Rescind the recruit's offer and be upfront with him. (needs to happen around
(December/ January). P.S. This is no slouch recruit...Nikel Robey out of FL
4) Take the ax himself
5) Hire another DC and demote Willie

Boy, I don't like any of those scenarios if I'm CMR...

Richt gets paid $2,000,000 a year. I wouldnt feel too sorry for him. His number one priority is to the football program, not his best friend. If he doesn't have what it takes to be honest and fire his DC, then he doesn't need to be in the head coaching business.

By the way, thanks for keeping me around after my tirade on Saturday night. I don't apologize for the topic of my post as it was spot on, but sorry for any of the younger fans who may have read it.

If it were my decision, i would not sacrifice the program for a recruit, or even a recruiting class.

I would not sacrifice the program or my job for a friend / bad DC that was not getting the job done. It would be different if the results of the friend / DC proved otherwise, but they don't.

I would fire WM and get this program headed back in the direction it was headed in 2002. If you lose the recruit, so be it, you can always go after a JC player or maybe by being honest you dont lose the recruit at all, but you cant worry about that.

While Richt is at it, he needs to take a long look at Bobo and his ability to call the games. I am not saying fire Bobo but maybe Bobo needs a few more years of study under a proven OC.
