Default A few notes on the Georgia's Spring Game
To anyone who cares:

Georgia had their annual G-Day game today pitting the Red team, quarterbacked by D.J. Shockley, versus the White team, quarterbacked by Joe Terishinski and Blake Barnes.

The teams were pretty even, in my opinion, the white team had the better defense and the Red had a dominating running game with Thomas Brown and Danny Ware, the white team had Tony Milton and Tyson Browning.

Ok, enough of the crap, How did Shockley look??

Shockley was not allowed to run the ball or get hit so we didn't see him run, but we did see him throw 3 TD passes. 2 to Leonard Pope and 1 to a receiver a didn't know (cuz i left early, all the scrubs got put in during the 4th quarter). However, Shockley was not very consistent. He wasn't hitting receivers in stride and was not very accurate at times. His performance in my opinion was modest at best. The 3 TD passes were setup by a terrific running game. Thomas Brown and Danny Ware were ripping off runs of 20, 30, and 40 yards because of massive holes made by the offensive line. As well as the white team, who had big runs out of Tyson Browning.

The stars of the day were Joe Terishinski and WR Kenneth Moore (I think that was his name, #88 anyway). JT looked very comfortable in the pocket and threw beautiful passes over the middle and deep, and threw a 44 yd bomb to Kenneth Moore, stride for stride. Kenneth Moore was unstoppable, he caught everything thrown at him and looked like he could hop in the starting role if he plays like that during summer camp. Blake Barnes looked exceptional, but played a limited role in QB duties for the white team. All in all, I would say they looked pretty good, the defense did well, intercepting one pass for Shockley and one for JT. Lots of big hits for Greg Blue and LB Danny White. If I missed anything, ask and I will try to answer it for you.

And even the kickers, Coutu and Bailey were knocking through 52 yarders during their kicking competition at half time.

In the end, it was the red team who won the game 21-12, but it was close until 1 minute to go when D.J threw his 3rd TD pass.

I was at the game myself and I have to disagree with you. Shockley was hitting his receivers in stride. Two receivers dropped passes that should have been caught(TE Millner and someone else). I only saw one pass that was not on target and Sean Bailey made an unbelievable catch to save it.

Shock was 11-19 for 193 yards. 3 TD 1 INT. Keep in mind the quarters were only 8 minutes long.

You are the first person I've seen who thought Shock didn't do well.
GEORGIA BULLDOGS:

FINAL Record: 9-4 (4-4)

What about when he was running around like an idiot (he had some big losses b/c he was running around) and we can't afford that in a game and he was throwing balls in the dirt.

I'm just being overly critical here. If you are gonna miss a receiver, miss close and especially if you have an open lane to the receiver, don't throw it at his feet.

The INT made me scream. HE CAN NOT THINK HE CAN JUST THROW THE BALL UP AND HOPE SOMEONE MAKES A PLAY, it's like playing russian roulette.

He looked good, but he's got a ways to go. The things I am harping on are fundamentals and lack of fundamentals will kill you.

Just another note. From the angle I had on Shockley's 2nd TD pass..... against any other defense (by that I mean, not a split squad), that pass was going the other way, possible for 6.

Not trying to dog on Shockley, just harping on his fundamentals. We need him to be as sharp as possible

His name is Kennith Harris, a redshirt freshman from North Carolina.

I didn't think Joe T did anything that terrific. Neither did Blake Barnes. I completely disagree with your comments on Shockley. He made 1 mistake which is an easy correction.

Thomas Brown was the star of the game, not Tereshinski IMO.
