Athens — Katie Heenan, all 5-foot-3 of her, can walk a little taller into Auburn's Beard-Eaves Coliseum today.
If the need arises, Kevin Kisner's game might just feature a chip around the green and one on the shoulder this weekend in Puerto Rico.
Strahinja Bobusic, if he wants, has material to volley with on and off the court.
And Kara Lynn Joyce, not that she would, can do a little deck dance before diving in the water.
All four are part of four Georgia teams ranked No. 1 in the nation this week — Heenan with gymnastics, Kisner with men's golf, Bobusic with men's tennis, Joyce with women's swimming and diving.
"Isn't it great to be a Bulldog?" Georgia athletics director Damon Evans said Thursday.
If ever there were a week to thump the chest and thrust the index finger in the air around Athens, this would be it. Georgia's four top-ranked teams are one more than Duke, two more than Olympic sports powerhouse Stanford.
Only one other SEC school has a top-ranked team — Florida, which is tops in one of the three major college baseball polls.
But it's not likely you'll catch any of the athletes strutting around campus this week.
"Really, it's not something you think about," Heenan said. "Maybe more in practice it can motivate you."
As for each team motivating each other, the athletes are so specialized and in a bubble due to practice, class work and competitions, it can be hard to take notice of other teams' accomplishments.
But they all have a common pool of fuel that feeds their collective fires. And one team's can spark another's instead of each program being forced to rub its own sticks together.
A winning environment simply breeds more winning.
"They definitely feed off each other," Evans said.
WHO'S NO. 1?
Georgia has the most teams ranked No. 1 nationally in sports that are in season. The top schools for top teams:
• Georgia: 4 (Men's golf, men's tennis, women's gymnastics, women's swimming)
• Duke: 3 (Men's basketball, women's basketball, women's golf)
• Stanford: 2 (Men's swimming, women's tennis)

I'm just surprised the AJC actually ran ONE article on UGA with no negative connotations... if you go to their site you'll see the story surrounded by "Shockley regrets staying?" or "Another UGA backup arrested" or "UGA hoops win ugly"
Meanwhile Tech gets headlines like "Jackets almost upset Duke!" with Reuben Houston's drug trafficking details buried in the back, if printed at all.
