I know it's on the Florida message boards because I've seen quotes from there. So when I mentioned Gonzales to UT, it was under the assumption that the Gator posters were clearly aware of the potential of losing Gonzales to UT. Not to hijack a thread. And I will post where I please. This hiring obviously has implications for the Gonzales move since he was one of the guys being considered for the OC position and the opinion was widely held that he would take a position at Florida to be the OC rather than move to another school.

So sorry I caught you by surprise, but that was not my intention and frankly I don't appreciate your attitude or your implications regarding this. Carry on with your thread. Seems like it's getting a lot of interest outside of the implications for Billy Gonzales. As far as everything else you questioned, I'm afraid you will have to do your own research on that. I'm through with this topic.
You assumed it was common knowledge, huh? Well, I read the Florida boards every day, and GH is an insider at GatorCountry, and neither of us has seen anything regarding it. There isn't a single thread over there suggesting it; and I suspect any that are on other Gator boards were started by UT fans trolling the sites. In fact, I just looked at the Rivals Gator site, and sure enough, there's a Vol flamer there who started a thread... and he got called out on it. There also isn't anything on the Scout Gators site; so your declaration that it's been discussed on Gator boards is complete BS.

Of course, there's always the POSSIBILITY of losing a position coach to another school who wants to hire him as a coordinator; but until that happens, it's a RUMOR, and thus, belongs in that forum. This discussion may have been going on at VolNation since Mullen was hired; but from what I've been able to determine, that's about the only place.

And, second, you are subject to the same rules you keep holding everyone else to, and because you are, you won't post where you please if it violates the TOS. Whether or not you like my attitude is irrelevant, and frankly, I don't like you breaking the same rules and agreements you report other members for. The team sites are protected from that kind of thing, and you know that to be true. Don't be a hypocrite... practice what you preach.

What forum rule am I breaking? I posted one line about Gonzales coming to the Hill and you go nutzo. This has nothing to do with anything I've done and that's obvious. The fact that Kiffin has spoken with Billy G has been known for quite awhile. It is not a rumor. It is a fact. It happened. It's been known for some time. Why you are not privy to that I have no idea, perhaps you don't read Chris Low's SEC blog, but it is irrelevant to it's truth.

I think I am starting to see why so many posters have such a problem with you. Someone says one thing about the very real possibility of one of your coaches leaving for another school and you blow your top. It's highly unnecessary and frankly not behavior becoming of a super mod.

Now show me what forum rule I have broken.

As I said previously, I will post where I please as long as it adheres to the TOS and it's clear that I have done nothing to violate anything more than a few sensitive Gator fans' feelings about their precious WR coach. Each of my posts here have been relevant to the topic and were not flames in any way. Keep your hypocrisy speeches for someone that they are relevant to. I haven't broken any rules. You were the one that stormed into this thread like some bat out of hell attacking me. You have escalated this. Not me. I was content to leave it at one line, but you just insisted on copping an attitude.

Here are some links for you since you are so out of the loop on all of this:

In addition to those links you can do a search on any UT message board and read all about it if you feel so inclined. Now I am done with this discussion.

I've got to agree with GU on this one. Looking at the GC insider boards as well as speaking to some friends that have their own sources...there was an unsubstantiated rumor that was started by writers for Mr SEC.com (originates from Knoxville). The rumor being Billy G. was leaving UF to take the same job at UT. The reason I didn't see it...it was one thread that was started over 2 weeks ago and only lasted a day. I'm not saying that it didn't happen...however, I highly question it because the Insiders over at GC scoop everything...nothing substantial that's happened since I've been a member has gone unchecked...so, I have to say, this is likely complete BS.

Another reason I have to say BS to this...why would Billy leave a staff he's coached with for 8 seasons...a staff he's fully invested in, to go to UT for the same job? Let's face it...UT is not UF. UT doesn't have the talent and isn't even on the same level as UF is right now. It'll be a couple of years before UT will be relevant again...why leave the top for the bottom? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Had UT offered Billy a promotion...I could see it...but not the same job.

As far as Drayton...he wasn't "fired" by UF...but he wasn't retained, either. When his contract was up...he was shown the door. Then...Drayton goes to UT and starts negative recruiting against his former team...guy has character issues...or, just sour-grapes. Our RBs have been heads-n-shoulders better since his departure...and our RB recruiting has benefited as well. I, for one, was extremely happy to see him go.

Now...questioning a Moderator's character because they disagree with you is BS in itself. GU questioned the reliability of this information as have I. And this is the FLORIDA BOARD. Sabo...you brought this here...it's obviously a rumor, however, if it has legs, we'll know soon enough. But...until you can post a link where UT or UF officials acknowledge it...you should expect criticism. BTW, this self righteous attitude is getting old.

Auburn promoted offensive line coach, Hugh Nall to OC in 2003 after our then OC Bobby Petrino left to coach Louisville. I hope this works out better for Florida than that did for us.

The good thing about the Florida Offense is, it's by committee. All of the coaches...Meyer, Mullen, Addazio and Gonzalez handle the play calling...it's all of their "offense"...they've been together running this thing for 8 years...so, there shouldn't be any transition...to be honest, Mullen was more a QB coach than an OC.

Gonzales sticking around
Wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator Billy Gonzales, who wasn't up for the Gators' offensive coordinator position, seems to be staying put despite Internet rumors.

Gonzales has been mentioned as a candidate to join Lane Kiffin's staff at Tennessee. Meyer said he hasn't been contacted by anyone regarding Gonzales' services.

"I asked Billy the same thing. The Internet — whoever invented that thing — I'd like to meet them and hit them right in the mouth," said Meyer, who then took back the quote.
