The University of Florida was well-represented in the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing. In fact, the Gators had the 4th most athletes of all universities in the Games, and the most in the SEC with 34. Many would compete for other nations, but 12 competed for the U.S., and showed up in a big way. 7 of the 12 would bring home a total of 13 medals for the U.S., including 5 golds (with 2 world records), 4 silvers, and 4 bronze. Another Gator athlete brought home a bronze for Jamaica.
