Sure seems that way to me. Not one top 25 matchup on the slate. Ohio State and Michigan looks to be a huge dud. Bama and UF are playing cupcakes. The only game worth watching this weekend will be LSU vs Ole Miss.

Could this be the worst week in college football history? In recent memory I can't think of any others that were worse.

Oh wait, Cal and Stanford play and they're both ranked by someone apparently. That's as close as we get to 2 ranked teams playing.

So, this weekend, me and four of my brosefs are going to Cincy this weekend to see Phish on Friday and Saturday.

Don't worry our hotel is on the KY side so failHIO doesn't get any more of our money.

But, what I need from you is some stats to throw around while I'm trolling the tPhish boards hating on those failHIOans. SEC winning percentage this decade in bowls, SEC winning % against little 2, etc.

Anything to remind them how inferior they are to US.

Please and thanks.

PS: I will drink beer(s) and rage harder than Kreiger at a metal show for you guys.

PSS: Sorry, Zartan.

The SEC Championship Game will be the true national championship game this year since the winner will be the best team in the country. I can't remember a time we've had 2 undefeated teams in the SEC meet for the SEC Championship. Amazing.

Personally, I really can't predict who will win. I see Alabama as being a stronger team overall, but Florida has the best defense in the country and it's just hard for me to picture Tim Tebow walking off the field as a loser in his final SEC football game.

So, I would not bet either way on this one. It will surely come down to some fluke play or unpredictable turnover that will decide it.

Here's a pretty good review of the game (this guy picks Bama).

We've all heard the story about the thee players arrested for their part in an attempted gun wielding robbery attempt. We all heard how Kiffin had just spoken hours before the incident and proclaimed how there had been no such incidents.

We finally heard his explanation and how proud he was that they went "Eleven months and eleven days without an incident."

Our hearts went out to him as we felt this could have happened anywhere and we were willing to give him a pass since nothing else had transpired like he told us repeatedly.

But today word came out that this was indeed NOT the first incident.

Understanding "Saban Speak" Tells The Real Meaning of What He's Saying

Covering Alabama football regularly, interviewing Saban after the games and attending other Alabama functions...

Covering Alabama football regularly, interviewing Saban after the games and attending other Alabama functions with Nick Saban as the speaker is the only way to learn "Saban Speak" language. It's a subtle difference between what he actually says and what he means.

The players know this all to well. So the assistant coaches. I've been told by players they can even tell by his body language how the talk is going to go.

They say if he grabs the lectern or a table he's mad and trying to stay under control. If he pumps his hands up and down he's frustrated about something and if he tilts his head, he's happy. But when he makes and holds eye contact with you and doesn't take his eyes away, watch out.

After learning all this I went back to watch some of the post game press conferences I taped and I'd have to say they were spot on.

But for the fans at home that don't get to witness the little things let me help you out with some of the "Saban Speak" or "Sabanisms" as I like to call them.

AIGHT

Short for "All right". Has two meanings but the most common one is used like this. "We had four opportunities to make T.D.s this game and we only made one of them, aight!"

What this means is that yes he knows they sucked in the red zone, everyone in the stands knew they sucked in the red zone and it sure wasn't ALL RIGHT. Most of the time when he says aight, he means it ain't all right.

Another example is in the press room when he says, "Well it's easy to second guess the play calling after the game aight!" Which of course means, "You're a jackass for trying to be an armchair coach after the game and that ain't all right."

But if he says aight with a smile on his face, (rare, but it does happen) or a smirk, (which is also rare) then it simply means "Are you following me?" "Do you get what I'm saying?"

An example would be, "So I got Cody trying to be new best friend and all, aight, because he's wanting more third down opportunities. And he wants to spend a lot more time with me aight..."

For the rest of the story you can go to: Understanding Saban Speak Tells The Real Meaning of What He's Saying | Bleacher Report

Tennessee freshman defensive back Nyshier Oliver was charged with theft by shoplifting just hours before the Vols hosted Memphis on Nov. 7.
The citation was issued at Dillard’s department store in West Town Mall at 2:45 p.m. The UT-Memphis game kicked off at 7 p.m.

Oliver will be booked on Nov. 23. He was cited after a police officer spotted him trying to conceal a brown polo shirt worth $110 in a Dillard’s bag.

Iron Bowl a warm-up for Bama

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

With the Iron Bowl finally on the horizon, I was talking to a friend recently about the big game.

"You are mighty high on the Tide," he quipped. "But don't you think it's worth remembering that anything can happen in the Iron Bowl?"

I had to laugh. Actually, I almost choked. I wanted to say, "Hey buddy, have you seen Alabama play this year?" But I saved my breath.

You've heard the old cliché about this game: Throw out the record books. My advice this year: Throw out the clichés.

Alabama isn't going to lose to Auburn in the Iron Bowl. While it's true that upsets occur from time to time in this game, they are rare. Although it's worth remembering this year marks the 25th anniversary of one the biggest stunners in the series.

That was in 1984 when a 4-6 Alabama team in Ray Perkins' second season took on an Auburn team that only needed a victory to punch its second straight ticket to the Sugar Bowl. That was the famed Wrong Way Bo game and Alabama prevailed, shocking Auburn 17-15.

Nick Saban certainly would like to win this game for a myriad of reasons. For starters, it would be his first win at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Saban lost three times there as LSU's head coach. His one loss at Alabama was on Nov. 24, 2007, and it marked the last time the Tide fell in the regular season.

This season, the two teams have had six common opponents (Arkansas, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State and Tennessee). Alabama was 6-0 against this group while Auburn was 3-3.

If you want to do some comparison shopping, take Arkansas ... please.

Alabama pounded Arkansas 35-7 at home. Arkansas pounded Auburn 44-23 in Fayetteville. Auburn trailed in the game 34-3.

Auburn was shredded by LSU on the road, 31-10 (but LSU led 31-3 until the game's final play from scrimmage). Alabama beat LSU 23-15 at home.

Alabama barely survived Tennessee at home, 12-10. Auburn beat the Vols on the road, 26-22.

Alabama shut down Kentucky 38-20 in Lexington. Auburn lost to Kentucky 21-14 at home.

Alabama beat Ole Miss 22-3 on the road. Auburn waxed Ole Miss 33-20 at home.

Auburn beat Mississippi State 49-24 at home. Alabama won in similar fashion at State 31-3.

Against these common opponents, the most points Alabama gave up was 20 to Kentucky, followed by 15 to LSU, 10 to Tennessee, 7 to Arkansas and 3 each to Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Conversely, Auburn's porous defense gave up 44 to Arkansas, 31 to LSU, 24 to Mississippi State, 22 to Tennessee, 21 to Kentucky and 20 to Ole Miss.

Do you get the feeling defense might be the key to this game?

Some might argue that home field advantage will help Auburn. Really? In its three SEC road games, Alabama has won by totals of 18, 19 and 28 points.

Auburn, which was schooled at Tuscaloosa last year 36-0, will be rested on Nov. 27 after enjoying its first bye week of the season. However, knowing he will have a short week (with the Iron Bowl on Friday) you can bet Saban will play his starters watchfully Saturday against Chattanooga.

So what's an early guess on the line?

"If the game were played this weekend, I'd make Alabama anywhere from an 11- to 13-point point favorite," said USA Today's Danny Sheridan of Mobile. "This is not a prediction as to who is going to win, only an early betting line."

So get ready for the hype. Get ready for the cliché machine to be put into overdrive. However, this Iron Bowl, does not have the look of a classic confrontation. In spite of a lot of manufactured hyperbole, it's just the final tune-up for Alabama on the road to Atlanta for the epic showdown with the Florida Gators.

The Iron Bowl as a warm-up game for one team. Did you think you would live long enough to hear those words?
Cornerback
FLORIDA
• Haden led Florida with 11 total tackles (10 solos), including a quarterback sack (-9 yards), interception, two forced fumbles and a pass deflection in the Gators’ 24-14 win at South Carolina.

• The interception, his third of the season, came in the fourth quarter and sealed the win for the Gators.

• The Florida defense held South Carolina to 247 yards of total offense and forced three Gamecock turnovers.

• Haden’s sack of Carolina QB Stephen Garcia was one of six by the Gator defense.

• He did not allow a sack, pressure or get called for any penalties against the Bulldogs.

• Johnson helped clear the way for an Alabama offense that gained 444 yards, with Mark Ingram rushing for 149 yards and two TDs.
