Question Will Ron Zook ever win Illinois a big10 title or a BCS bowl win?
.
.
Minnesota has just defeated Illinois 27-20. The Illini are now 3-3. So far, Zook has shown me very little at his tenure at Illinois. He has recruited some athletes but the best he can accomplish with them is a bowl elegible season.
Im glad Florida got rid of him.

9-3. I see him never having a better season than that. And of course I see him never winning a big ten title.

Loaded question. He may win a BCS bowl, but not as the Tiny Televen champion. As bad as that conference has been, though, there shouldn't be any BCS bowl bids for anybody other than the champion.

This is a no. Illinois had their best season last year. Now they have to build up the program again. Wisconisn and Ohio St. will always be good and then Michigan will be coming back soon. Then you have Penn. St.

Yep. Id bet they never have a 10 win regular season. Last year as their best year and they went 9-3 in the regular season

No.

Zook always loses games he shouldn't lose, and that will keep him out of the title race.

Okay buddy, now I have to grill you over that statement. First off, the Big 10 is a lot better this year than they were last year as far as depth IMHO. With tOSU being more "average" this year than in most years, you have 8 teams that could win the conference this year. Right now Penn State is the class of the field followed by Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan in that order. Penn State looks scary good but so can tOSU when they are firing on all cylinders. Northwestern is undefeated and Minnesota is 6-1. Illinois, Penn State, Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan, and Minnesota are all playing "SPREAD" offenses this year or trying to build them up. IMHO the Big 10 is on its way up again. Please don't give me the Big 12 is awesome argument because no one in the Big 12 is much better than the anyone in the Big 10 and plus the Big 12 doesn't know what defense is this year. As for the SEC, in which I believe is overhyped this year. Florida just thumped #4 LSU (defending NC) worse than Florida beat tOSU a few years ago....the difference is that no one is saying that LSU is overrated? What gives? The Big 10 is just as competitive in league play as the SEC is, so is the Pac 10, and so is the Big 12. This year there is no conference that stands out above the rest. Penn State will get knocked out of the NC picture when they come to Columbus in two weeks. They have never won in the Shoe. BTW, you probably don't want to have to play a Big 10 team again this year and get beat by them when you were supposed to smoke them... *cough*Michigan*cough*

I think you contradict yourself here. 9-3 could be enough in a given year to win the Big Ten title. I see it as a possibility because I think it is going to take Michigan awhile to rebuild and Ohio St. was supposed to be great this year with so many returning players after the debacle against LSU, but they have showed that they are only good at best.

The strength of the SEC remains the fact that every team is good right now. Even Tennessee who has played the worst of may be everyone is really a dangerous team. I think everyone expects us to break out and they are hoping we do not do it to their team. Even Miss. St. showed that they can surprise a team. The reason why the SEC is the best is because of defense. Every team in this conference plays good defense with strong, quick, athletic players. There is no shame to losing or even getting blown out in the swamp. Tennessee got blown out in the swamp last year and ended up the season beating Wisconsin in a bowl game.

I think we'll see in the next few weeks what the general sentiment will be concerning LSU. If they blitz through the rest of their games and beat UGA in the Bayou, they'll be the real deal. If they fall apart like Clemson did, then all of the focus will be on Bama in the west.

So are you saying that UF is the class of the SEC? Whats the general consensus pick between LSU and Bama?

Are you serious??

Wow, where do I start. I'll just let bowl season prove that the Big 10 isnt all that good. And how can you say that Ohio St. can look like Penn St. when they are firing on all cylinders? If thats the case then tOSU hasnt fired on all cylinders a single time this year...hell they apparently havent even turned the engine on.

The Big 12 is WAY ahead of the Big 10. Penn St. could possibly match up with Texas, but thats where it ends. Who would match up with Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Mizzou, or OK. St.? And you can toss out the defense thing because Penn St. has been lighting up every Big 10 team. And Mizzou blew up Illinois' D.

UF didnt blow out LSU worse than they did tOSU. LSU didnt gain most of their yards on the opening kick off. And its funny how you go back two years but fail to mention that LSU also beat Ohio St. last year.

Well, it's tough to tell. We need to know how good LSU is. If they end up going 10-2, then our blowout looks pretty good...and we can talk about UF as having one of the most dangerous offenses. If LSU stumbles, then that devalues things....you know, less about us being unstoppable and more about them not being able to stop anybody. I wouldn't think that's the case, but it's just a guess at this point. I do think UF is putting all the pieces together at the right time, and UGA looks totally beatable...

As far as class of the SEC, though, I'd still go with Bama at this point. Right now, I'd bet that 'Bama wins the west pretty comfortably and awaits the winner of the WLOCP to play for the conference title.

How do you feel about Pryor against PSU? College Football Now had one of tOSU's analysts on to talk about the MSU game, and he said there were struggles in a number of offensive areas...Robiskie dropping balls, Pryor without a 100-yard passing game, etc. How do you feel about PSU? I know your loyalties will prevent you from annointing the Lions as the conference champs, but how do you see the conferece shaking out? In a way, PSU's win over Wisconsin is like our win over LSU. How good is Wisconsin? I've been disappointed with Belema's team this season....so, if that isn't such a great win as it seemed like it might have been in August, there may be some questions as to who Penn State has really played this year....

Well, right now watching the tOSU vs. Mich St. game, I would say that so far the great Ohio State team has showed up. They are playing excellent today so far. Its not even the end of the first quarter and Pryor has just about 100 yds both rushing and passing with 3 TD's. IMHO the winner of the PSU/tOSU game wins the Big 10. Illinois is good but rather hit and miss. They played with Missouri whom might win the Big 12 and the Illini are probably only the 6th best team in our conference. The Big 12 is OVERRATED!!!! All offense and NO defense. Wisconsin is not as good as I thought they would've been maybe since they have lost 4 in a row their head might be down. The Bucks win in Madison was a tough win but the Badgers are in a major slump but they have good talent and are a legit team when things are going right for them. PSU has a equally nasty offense and defense this year and I thank my lucky stars that this game is in Columbus this year. I really couldn't tell you who might win this game because it is too close to call right now IMHO. The Big 10 is fielding some pretty decent teams this year. Iowa just hammered Wisconsin and Northwestern just tore apart Purdue. More and more of the Big 10 teams are implementing spread offenses with the success of the them the past few years. I would have thought Purdue would've been a good team, maybe not. IMHO the Big 10 is on its way up again. We are leaps and bounds better this year as a conference than last year and to be honest, its nice to see other teams doing good other that tOSU and Michigan. Minnesota will most likely wind up in a descent bowl game this year and I believe they are a solid team as well. Michigan IMHO surprises me the most, I would have honesty thought they would be 6-6 at the worst this year with new coach Rodriquez but losing to lowly Toledo doesn't say much. Your going to see one of the most lop sided tOSU - UM rivalry games this year.

Florida, IMHO is one of the most wickedest teams in the country when everything is going right. Tebow is the best QB in the country IMHO, forget the imitations like McCoy, Bradford, or Daniels. Tebow is much better than they are and is rightfully deserving of being the second two time Heisman winner to tOSU's Archie Griffin. Oklahoma, Texas, or Missouri would get beat by UF, LSU, USC, UGA, tOSU, PSU, or Bama with no question. The Big 12 is kind of like the pre-madonna the Big 10 was a few years ago with a few teams looking statistically good but falling up short against good OOC competition. I would like to see either of the following teams in the NC game this year. Here are my dream matchups.

Bama vs. PSU
Florida vs. USC
Bama vs. USC
PSU vs. USC
Florida vs. PSU

If you can't tell I want someone to beat USC. We play them in Columbus next year and I am officially declaring right now that OHIO STATE WILL BEAT SOUTHERN CAL NEXT YEAR IN COLUMBUS!!!!

Illinois, Penn State, Ohio State, Northwestern, and Iowa all had their offenses in high gear yesterday. Nice to see the Big 10 starting to break out these new spread offenses.
