How about this possible matchup
If we can beat Furman and get bowl eligible there is a good chance we'd face a Big XII team in the independence bowl. That team could be Iowa St. If that matchup becomes a possibility you know the powers that be will make that happen. What's worse is we'll likely lose to an improving Cyclone team that beat Nebraska on the road for the first time since 1977.
Boy, there would be a couple different ways you could go with that one. I will just be glad to get back in a bowl no matter who we play, the extra practice will be a great benefit for us moving forward.

In that senario I think Chizik has the advantage. He recruited and coached those players for two seaons, whereas Rhoads was only here one year and our offense is totally different from last year.
I echo the others and say I just want to see our Tigers get the benefit of a bowl game I don't care who it is really.
"What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men." from Cool Hand Luke

Yea, I would just love a bowl game at this point. We would beat Iowa State though. They got completely outplayed the whole game against Nebraska but Nebraska had 8, yes 8, turnovers. You just can't win with 8 turnovers...

As a fan the extra game and the prestige that comes with it are great. Making the trip even better but in reality the extra practice is what it is allllllll about!
