Default David Gibbs on MSU
some comments from new DC David Gibbs on MSU:

The Bulldogs of 2005, he said, are a far cry from the team Auburn routed 43-14 in Starkville last season. He called the offense, led by quarterback Omarr Conner and tailback Jerius Norwood, "scary."

"They are big up front, fast at wide receiver and at tailback," Gibbs said. "The quarterback can run around and throw. They believe in themselves now. You can see it on the tape. They are fired up."

MSU always has a herd of cattle up front. It will be interesting to see how AU's undersized DE's play against the run in this game.

i thought it was just their LB's that was undersized. for the running game, it's more important that the front 7 don't overpursue like they did against tech.

Auburn's front seven isn't very big. However, they are quicker and faster which is good because Norwood is a faster back instead of a bowl you over Gerald Riggs back.

I'm not sold on Tubervilles theory of speed over size. Great for pass defense but I think AU is going to have trouble stopping strong running teams in short yardage situations.
