Default A somber anniversary
My fellow swine, once again the eve of that horrible day in 2006 has come upon us. Tomorrow marks three years since we lost our voice of the Razorbacks and our friend Mr Paul Eells.
I can't tell you what a hard hit that was, waking up to that horrible news. It was the time of the year when two a day practices were preparing to begin. and the long off season was over for fans craving the kick off for the upcoming college football season. Then we were hit with this. It sure put things in perspective for a lot of us on what's important in life.
Never have meeting the man, like a lot of fans who loved him, I felt like I knew him. Hell he was in my living room every evening telling me the latest from Fayetteville, whether it being at Razorback stadium or Barnhill arena/Bud Walton or in the KATV studio.
Since the accident, a day never passes where I don't have thoughts of Paul. The world was much better with him in it and Heaven became much grander on July 31 2006.

I was thinking about him a couple of days ago. It still feels weird not hearing him. It won't ever be the same.

Paul was a great guy. I had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions. I was watching a hole at a charity golf tournament one year. When the Channel 7 team came to the hole Paul made a point to come shake hands and introduce himself. The whole while the other 3 jerks looked down their nose at us. Ned Perme and Dale Nicholson didn't deserve to be playing with Paul. He was emceeing another golf tournament I was playing in. Nolan Richardson tee'd off just before my team. Nobody on his team was close to the fairway and we watched him drop and play from 150 yards out in the middle of the fairway. Paul just laughed and said how Nolan always makes sure he wins.
I HATE JOHN PELPHREY
