This should be a colossal game, and a game with serious national title implications. We'll finally get to see McCoy and Bradford square off. The Texas D is as good as it's been in a long time, and I think they'll handle OU pretty good. But if they don't find a running game, (which I think Ogbanayya is going to emerge as very good), this game could play in favor of OU. I predict the winner of this game will go on to defeat Mizzou in the Big12 Championship. And if undefeated, the National Title game. I'm taking Texas, 31-27. Thoughts?

In all seriousness, this is going to be a GREAT game!
This is BY FAR the best defense Texas has had under Mack Brown. Between the two teams defenses, there are literally 8 or 9 players that will be playing on Sundays next year...and alot of them playing significant roles on Sundays!
I'm not ready to post a prediction, but this is going to be a classic battle and probably the game of the year when it's all said and done. Both of these teams are legit!!

Each year we are promised a great game from these two old rivals only to be let down. But this year proves this one could be one for the ages. Bradford vs McCoy. A classic. The only drawbacks on these match-up Saturday is a weaker Texas defense. I see Oklahoma to take this one on that reason alone. The tough OU D could likely knock some key players out of the game. It's always a hard hitting battle when the Red River Classic kicks off.
Oklahoma - 38
Texas - 24

I don't see much way that OU could lose this one. They've earned their No. 1 ranking and Texas is not going to take that away from them. Don't be suprised if you see OU go undefeated this year.

I'm not ready to post a prediction, but this is going to be a classic battle and probably the game of the year when it's all said and done. Both of these teams are legit!!Wrong on several levels. You are looking at 3 Freshmen DBs. This alone has UT fans worried. Granted, they are talented DBs, but they are raw and haven't faced a high powered offense like OU's. Their DL is VERY good though...as it is most years. Their LBs are good, but not great. Not like the year they had Derrick Johnson leading them...THAT was a good defense.
I think you are right about the NFL players though. OU's Demarcus Granger(who is still not 100%) will likely go early this year. Gerald McCoy and Austin English could go early as well. That's 2 DTs and 1 DE. I don't see any OU LBs going pro as of RIGHT now. A lot of potential, but Ryan Reynolds will have to prove his knees are fit. So next year will be vital for him. He is getting some of Venables best grades every week though.
DBs? Holmes and Harris will get looks. I see Harris being the only one making a roster though. Our CBs have potential in the future, but one never knows. To far down the road.
Ill tell you one thing...one of those big 12 QB's is going to win the Heisman this year. Bank on itIt's amazing the transformation that has come into the forefront the last couple of years with the offenses. OU finally going to the no-huddle makes the Big 12 almost complete in this regard. OU averages 80 offensive snaps a game this year so far.
That's a school record if it holds even close throughout the year.

A fun first half for football fans. It's going like I thought it would. Now I see Oklahoma to pull away out scoring the Longhorns 17-3.

This isn't even an SEC game, can't we merge these 2 Texas/OU threads?

Gatoru and I watched this game. I really expected the Sooners to win, but I knew anything could happen in a great rivalry like this one. Congrats to the Longhorns! It was a game with some very unlikely events scattered through it. I know it was very painful for the Sooners. We have all been on the losing end of a game like this.

The bad news is, Ryan Reynolds, our MLB, tore his ACL...again. This is the third injury(2nd time to the same one) of this type he's had while at OU.
We have very little, if any, depth at LB this year.

Sorry to hear about the injury. Those are really bad. Oklahoma will not diasppear from contention because of this loss. They are too good, very explosive. Good luck this year!
