I know this old, but actually this one has pictures, and found this on an NC State site of all places!
"South Carolina will be upgrading and expanding their stadium over the next couple of years. New/upgraded locker room and offices will be done by the start of the 2009 season and an expansion in the North endzone will be complete by 2010. The expansion will add between 6,000-8,000 seats to the stadium and the expected official capacity will be around 88,000. I expect that they could fit more in though considering that although the official capacity right now is listed at 80,250, they have had crowds go as high as 85,000."

The Question I have, is where is the scoreboard going to be located,
This architect's diagram is too large to post in here.

Very cool. Carolina's already awesome stadium looks to be getting even better.

that'll be cool, and much needed. Billy Brice will be loud as hell with that endzone wrapped in.

The scoreboard? That's a good question. We'll need to get a Jumbotron if they plan on putting it on top of the upper deck.

Hopefully we can get two huge HD screens above opposing spiral walkways (SW and NE for instance). Considering the construction track record around here I find it highly unlikely anything would be ready by 2010, but perhaps 2011. I haven't heard specific updates as far as fundraising and finalized blueprints though, so who knows.

It took a little(ok,a lot) longer than expected for the baseball stadium but that was mainly because of disagreements over land settlements, people complaining about future noise, and just about any other problem that could stall the progress. I dont think the football stadium will see nearly as many problems. Also considering the fund raising going on right now Im sure they realize that people are gonna wanna see results sooner than later, especially when it comes to football.

The Baseball Stadium also had some granite problems. I don't see any reason for WB to be delayed.

I hate to bring bad news, but on Tuesday Mike Morgan had a guest from the University on talking about the new seat prices and other Gamecockclub issues. Morgan asked about the expansion and the guest stated at this time there are no plans to expand in the near future.

Williams Brice won't be expanded in the next 2-3 years. If it does it will be sometime around 2012 it appears.

He said there aren't any concrete plans but that they'd like to do it after this season.

I can't wait to see the expansions. We will easily average 90k at the WB. Should be a lot of fun.

Our scoreboard is so tiny anyways, it doesn't matter. Let's just bring in the extra seats!

They are already undergoing cosmetic improvements at Williams-Brice, painting many areas of the concrete garnet, including painting the ramps' exterior garnet. Here's some of the improvements underway:

And apparently it was thought that the soundsystem inside W-B was upgraded before the start of last season, but now I'm hearing that it was never done, but is now for this offseason.....
