View Full Version : Tailgating tips for Williams-Brice
Okay so one of my buddies and me will be coming to Columbia for the Georgia game, and I'm trying to figure out the way to do things up there. From what I understand, there are fairgrounds adjacent to the stadium that everyone tailgates at? How does this work? Do people just show up early and pay for a parking spot? I doubt we'll be entering any "most extravagant tailgate" contests, but we'll want to hang out, enjoy the atmosphere and everything.
Any other advice on stuff we should do while we're there would be appreciated.

Parking in the fairgrounds is usually by pass only. There are plenty of other places to pay to park though. Then you can just walk around the fairgrounds or walk across the street from the stadium to some of the more upscale tailgating areas. After the game head down to 5 points. Tons of extremely hot college chicks will be out win or lose. Shoot me a pm closer to gameday and I'll set you up for a great time.

I'm planning on going too since I now live closer to Columbia than Athens...
Wow---I just realized my geographic location and I feel dirty!

i went to williams brice last year for the first time....i got spoiled though because we knew some people right outside the door to williams brice by one of the endzone entrances.....maybe some of the sc fans can help me....we tailgated with some people that had a huge black bus parked right in front of what i think was a real little donut, coffee, or little chicken place?? any of yall know, i cant remember....they always have a huge flat screen hanging on the side of the bus....and the band usually stops outside their tent area....anyways we were only like 50 yrds from our seats and it was pretty fun....

Was is across the street from the stadium? That would probably be either The Biscuit House or Bojangles.

Gotta have a pass to park in the Fairgrounds, but you can definitely walk around for free. I park in a private lot now, but until last year, I parked in a $5 lot that's about 2 blocks from the Fairgrounds. If you want directions to that lot, then let me know, and I'll get you there. I may be parking there this year, too (other place is way too crowded for me), so a lot of us should meet up at some point.

It's not as awesome as tailgaiting in Starkville, but it's ok.

Sounds good. How far is 5 points from the stadium?
