Nice list there, certainly puts things into perspective. Give it 3 or 4 years and we'll probably be #1 on that list.

You know you've got a ridiculously misleading stat when.............
.......there are only 2 SEC stadiums in a top 10 toughest stadiums list. . I'll take Death Valley over any of the 24 "above" it.

Why is Fresno State in the top 25 let alone #7?
I've been to Memorial Stadium in Nebraska - back in the 90's (when they were good). It's a awesome atmosphere and truly is a SEA OF RED (not crimson red thank God). However, NU has taken a significant drop since them days which is why ranking their stadium #1 a little far fetched. Very worthy of a top ten placing, just not #1.
To me Baton Rouge has got to be the toughest venue to play in this coming season. Coming off a NC, plus that little homecoming party for Saban in early November - IMO makes Death Valley an official BITCH to play in.

I agree that there are other factors that figure into a stadium's "toughness", but in terms of winning percentage there isn't much arguing. Over the last 25 years, it's been "tougher" to win in the Swamp than any stadium except Nebraska's.

This doesn't necessarily determine who has a tougher stadium. There are so many other factors that determine how well a team plays at home it isn't even funny. Fans are one thing, fans making it hard on an opponent is one thing. Winning at home however isn't just because of the fans or the stadium.

Heck, take away the much hated "Ron Zook Years" and the Swamp is probably #1...;)

Is there more stats we can look at instead of just winning percentage? I'm pretty curious on some of the aspects.

The Swamp is the toughest place to play, bar none but LSU fans throwing bottles filled with piss makes BR somewhere nobody wants to visit.

Yeah----No way LSU is #25 on that list---ranked worse than Iowa/Virginia and the like----granted I haven't been to see a game in almighty Iowa---but I feel pretty confident that LSU is a hell of a lot tougher place to play---winning percentage I understand---but come on--its Big Ten (eleven)

Actually, it depends on what team you are when you talk about the toughest place to play. I don't much care for Baton Rouge on a Saturday night. ;) I am not too interested in Gainesville on a Saturday night OR day due to the loudness. It is hard to hear yourself think!

I think your confusing LSU fans for Gamecock fans. Nobody can embarrass a conference more than these locals during a national telecast. I thing they have night schools for bottle throwing.

Some teams don't ever play tough games at home. Take Boise St for instance: No decent team would come to Boise, so they have to play any decent teams on the road. If you looked at Boise's win pct. it's like 64-2 at home in the last 10 years or so, or atleast that's what some boise fan was quoting
