...think you will win the West next year and how many games do you expect to win?

Obviously I will have homerish views on this, but I think we have a pretty good shot at winning the West. Our schedule's pretty rough; but if we can pull through on a couple of the toss-up games, I think we win the West and have a record of 10-2 or 9-3. It's hard to predict the season completely, but on paper I believe we are the best team in the West. With that said, anything can happen (especially in this conference), so I would not be surprised if we didn't win the West. I do feel extremely confident in a 10 win season (including a bowl victory if need be).

Who in the West is going to beat us?
Auburn? Possibly. It's at their place. But, I think we're deeper and more talented.
Alabama? In Death Valley? Nick's first return? Not a chance!
Miss State? They're getting better and better, but not yet good enough to beat us.
Ole Miss? Possible for sure. They are going to have a good team and a good coach. It should be a close game.
Arkansas? Doubtful. Even in Little Rock the payback will be massive.

All things considered, we should win the West and be in Atlanta.

History certainly tells us that there is very definitely a chance.
But the circumstances this time may be somewhat different from the usual.
Look for the Tigers to be highly motivated to show Nick what it's all about.

All depends on if we win at Auburn or not and how Auburn turns out if we don't win. If everything works out for Auburn and we lose, Auburn wins the west. If everything doesn't work out for Auburn and we lose, we have a chance to still win the west if we only lose 1 more SEC game outside of that. If we win @ Auburn (which personally I don't think we will) then we'll definitely win the west.

In any case I expect us to be 9-3 next year with a good shot of going 10-2. Anything worse should not be expected (than 9-3). IF 9-3 gets us in the SECCG, then so be it, if it doesn't, then so be it.

I'd say it's probably 50/50. Basically all comes down to whether we win the Auburn game. I think LSU is probably a slightly better team, but the game is at Auburn.

Not only will Auburn and Alabama beat you this season, but it will be convincingly. Considering since you will also be blown out by Florida and Georgia. Let's hope South Carolina doesn't nip the Tigers in the butt, and our own in-state 'juggernaut' Troy doesn't repeat what ULM did unto us. There's you some 'homerism' right back at you GeauxTo.

I would also like to know how Coach Saban effects the player's performance. There is nothing all of you Bayou crazies can do if we're the better team that night. Just because your beloved coach is back on the adjacent sideline, doesn't mean there isn't a chance for the Crimson and White. This is the kind of talk that will make it that much sweeter GeauxTo. Lord, can you imagine all the law enforcement that will be on suicide watch for the citizens of Baton Rouge?

Personally I think Auburn is going to beat y'all. I think they have a better defense. I also think there QB situation is a little more stable then what you guys have coming into the year.

Also, I think the defense takes a step back this year. This is not to say they are not going to be talented. I think you will have a lot of younger guys that don't have a lot of experience who will make some mistakes at key times. For example, take a look at UF last year.

All that said, I do think the top 2 teams in the west are Auburn and LSU....at this time.

I thought you were going to say "does it take to screw in a lightbulb". The answer of course is two. One to screw it in and another to bring the other guy corndogs.

I'm pretty sure that LSU will win 9 games in the regular season during 2008.

I'm ok with 9, just not 10 or I'll be sporting a LSU avatar for 3 months. :D

I don't think that LSU's defense this year can be compared to UF's defense last year. UF had to start 9 new guys on defense last year. LSU's only fresh players this season will be in the secondary. I'm not saying that they won't struggle, just that it isn't the same situation. Most fans have very high expectations of this years LSU D. Only time will tell though.
