His look at a hypothetical rundown at the top-down strength of the leagues tell fans all they need to know about this article. And I thought it was quite humorous that he had Alabama rated so high, even funnier that he matched Kansas to be their equal. Now that's funny stuff right there.
Oklahoma/Georgia
Missouri/Florida
Texas Tech/LSU
Kansas/Alabama
Texas/Tennessee
Oklahoma State/Auburn
Nebraska/Mississippi State
Texas A&M/Arkansas
Colorado/South Carolina
Kansas State/Kentucky
Iowa State/Ole Miss
Baylor/Vanderbilt

No way Bama is 4th behind LSU. Texas has to be at least #3 even after last year. Regardless of those errors, after the top two, the next three games aren't close. LSU shuts down Tx Tech, Tenn dominates a Kansas team that didn't beat anybody of note last year.
A&M vs. Ark and CO SoCar might be interesting. Kentucky manhandles K State and Iowa State can't keep up with Ole Miss. I'd gladly take Vandy over Baylor any year.
So the big 12 would be lucky to win three of these games.
I like his comparisons..... but they aren't necessarily equals.
I think the Big 12 is easily the 2nd best conference in college football right now (i had long arguments with bamafannky last season over this very subject. Turns out, I was right). However I do not think they are as good as the SEC.

I think there's a good chance it the Big 12 could end up being better than the SEC this year.
The Big 12 is completely loaded at QB. The SEC? John Parker Wilson is probably the 3rd best QB. Ouch.

It's really heartbreaking to see what drugs will do to a person's mind. This guy needs help before it's too late.

Probably not 4th. This New Orleans writer picks Bama 3rd. I agree. And moving up.

I agree. Ive sorta been a closet big12 fan. It seems as though we are always debating SEC/Big Ten or SEC/Pac Ten....I think that from top to bottom, the big 12 has more competition and quality teams than the Pac 10 or Big 10.
Sure OU and Texas arent going to be quite the media darlings that USCw and tOSU are but the Big 12 is a more complete conference than what USC and OSU belong to.
And of course I think the SEC is #1 top to bottom:)

You are the stat king GU! Good stuff.
I do have a hard time ranking the ACC above the Big 10

The simple fact of the agrument is that Kansas and Missouri have been door mats if my recent memory serves me right until last season. The big 2 out in the Big 12 is usually OU and TX, both are very solid schools but OKState, Missouri, Kansas, Tx AM and Tx Tech, arent really top of the line college football programs. Tx Tech reminds me of a glorified Hawaii team that couldnt do anything against a good defense. I understand they may beat a TX or OU team occasionally but that happens in every conference. See USC vs UGA(Joke USC fans dont bash me)
The simple fact of the matter is that the big two were down in that division except for OU last season and that gave Missouri and Kansas a chance to beat up on what was a highly overated Okstate team that was thought to be the third best team in that conference. Id pencil the Big 12 in as a close 3rd behind the Pac10 right now. When Chase Daniel and Todd Reising leave their respective schools (Missouri, Kansas) these teams will again fall to their respective position which is awwing over OU and TX. In the SEC currently its UGA, UF, UT, AU, LSU, with BAMA finding its MOJO in saban they will probably rejoin the top teams in the conference. Thats overlooking some scary good ARKY teams recently, as well as USC, UK, and MISS St. I mean this guy is making comparisions after one season, if those teams remain respectable for say 7-10 yrs who are frequently bottom dwellers, then he can give us a call.
Until then its SEC! SEC! SEC! chants that will rattle the stadiums of all our out of conference foes. Go Dawgs.

I think they're ranking the matchups based on what they expect the Big 12 and SEC to look like this season and this season alone. Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense. I would take the SEC in every single one of those games and would probably end up losing maybe twice, if that.

Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Tech would be average at best in the SEC. I might have respect for these teams if they actually played teams that were worth a crap.

I really have to question this guys opinion. Is the Big 12 the 2nd best to the SEC in the eyes of SEC fan? I really think you have to take a closer look at the idea. The big 12 is going to have their regular cast of regulars in Texas, Oklahoma. But with the sudden decline of Nebraska, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State, tone has to believe that Texas Tech is now the third best team on a year to year basis. Kansas and Missouri had found success in recent years, but that won't continue.
Here's my breakdown of top Football conferences in America.
1. SEC
2. Pac 10
3. Big 12/ Big 10-11 Tie
4. ACC
5. Big East Not far behind the ACC
The return of Norm Chow to the Pac 10 is one reason for me to place them at the 2 spot. South Cal, Cal, Oregon and UCLA are four contenders each year and travel and compete well on the road with anyone. So Four top teams in a conference is better than two standout any day of the week. Texas and Oklahoma make be in the top ten more often than some Pac !0 teams, but the Big 12 just doesn't have the numbers. The Arkansas and Texas A&M contract to play X numbers of games should help the big 12 down the road with the coverage it will receive in the area.

I can't even put the ACC above the Big Least. The Big Least is 6-4 in BCS bowl games, if you include ThugU (remember, they still played in the Big Least when they were respectable... and that may even be why they were so successful); but, they're still 3-0 without Miami. The ACC is 1-9 in BCS bowl games... the lone victory being F$U in 2000. Of course, the down side to that is they beat VT in that game; which gives the ACC another loss, too; although VT, like ThugU, was still in the Big Least then. The other 9 ACC BCS games are as follows:
1999 – F$U loses (sans Chris Weinke) to Tennessee in the Title Game.
2001 - Oklahoma 13 - FSU 2 (National Title)
2001 – Florida 56 and Maryland 23. Well Fridge, you broke 20!
2002 – The Mark Richt “Remember Me?” Game: Georgia 26 – FSU 13
2003 – Miami 16 – FSU 14. Was this “Wide Right Eleventy-Billion?”
2004 – Welcome to the ACC Virginia Tech! Auburn 16 – VT 13
2005 – Can someone make a field goal? Penn State 26 – FSU 23
2006 – Raise your hand if you picked Wake Forest as ACC champs. And if you’re an alum, your vote doesn’t count. Louisville 24 – Wake 13.
2007 – Virginia Tech loses to a team that technically finished 3rd in the Big XII in Kansas. Kansas 24 – VT 21.
