Good to see Trevor dispensing the Word though he thinks too highly of the tigereagle D ;).
LSU (#3), AU(#6), UGA(#14) led the SEC and I suspect all three will again be stout as all three return a lot of guys. Biggest difference will be that UGA returns its DC while both of the tigger teams have new ones.

I hate to see Auburn so high. That is going to be one tough game for the Vols in September.

Pitt finished '07 with the #5 ranked D Nationally. Perhaps you misspelled PITT when you searched the records, eh?

Take a defense that gave up over 30 points to Indiana, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Now, subtract Dan Conner. What are you left with? Apparently the 4th best defense in the nation. Stick to improving your cell phone service sprint.

Oh, I'm sorry... I was not conniving to deescalate your blissful expectations of grandeur and abruptly halt your stay on cloud 9. Please, carry on. But as a gentle reminder, when you're done with the blunt, mind that you clean up the taco bell wrappers; we have to all work to keep this place tidy.

You really need to get more sleep.
You really need to get more sleep.
THAT, I won't disagree with. After a fierce night of beer drinking and wench-mounting, I tossed and turned in a bed not my own and got maybe 3 hours of sleep before waking up and trying to detox my body (more so from the sackful of krystals I ate at 4am to soak up the liqor than from the actual liqor) and then heading into work for the rest of the day and night. I'm a hungover zombie right now.

Let's see, you lose all that Senior leadership on Defense, you lose your DC, and your Defense was getting SMOKED the last half of the season:
Oct. 6, 2007 Florida (CBS) W 28-24
Oct. 13, 2007 at Kentucky (CBS)L 43-37
Oct. 20, 2007 Auburn (ESPN) W 30-24
Nov. 3, 2007 at Alabama (CBS) W 41-34
Nov. 17, 2007 at Ole Miss (CBS) W 41-24 (gave up 500 yards)
Nov. 23, 2007 Arkansas (CBS) L 50-48
Jan. 7, 2008 at Ohio State W 38-24
IMO, losing Hester and Flynn will be big blows to your Defense. So yeah, you're probably all those things listed above!

Two of those games were TRIPLE overtime games so that skews the stats quite a lot. Our defense played well in every game but the Ole Miss and Arkansas games. BTW he left out TWO games against Louisiana Tech and Tennessee in that "Stretch" of games.
Our defense allowed...
314 yards to Florida
375 yards to Kentucky (Triple overtime)
296 yards to Auburn
254 yards to Alabama
256 yards to Louisiana Tech
466 yards to Ole Miss
513 yards to Arkansas (Triple overtime)
343 yards to Tennessee
353 yards to Ohio State
Keep in mind LSU finished 3rd in total defense in the NATION last year. I'd hardly call that bad by any shape of the imagination.

LSU was getting worse as the season progressed. They give up 50 points and lose at HOME to an unranked team, but then get to play UT in the SECCG instead of UGA or UF, THEN they get to play an OSU team in the NC game who would have been middle of the pack SEC. One of the luckiest teams ever. The luck runs out this year.

LSU was the most penalized team in the SEC because they were poorly coached. Guess what team was the least penalized.

Guess what team won the National Championship and which team finished with 6 losses, again?
The penalties came from a large majority of procedure penalties, which was due to the very complex offense we were running for the first time last year with the 2 QBs. We had a ton of delay of games going from Flynn to Perrilloux and lineup issues in formations (we had several ineligble man penalties and what not). We were hardly a poorly coached team, if we were, we probably would not have won the National Title. You expect to have a lot of penalties when you go through such a major change on offense running that complex of an offense especially when using 2 QBs. The big positive was our offense was next to unstoppable last year meanwhile Bama's never penalized offense was the laughing stock after putting up 14 on ULM.
By the way, nice ignoring 2 games where we held opponents to 10 and 14 points during that "Stretch of games" you conveniently left out.

ROFL @ the delusions. Hey, LSU had no impact on who went to the SECCG from the East (We already beat Florida and Tennessee shitstomped Georgia). We played in the SECCG with our backup QB and still won the SEC and went on to embarrass OSU in the NCG. We did what we had to do with what was put in front of us. Bama meanwhile couldn't beat ULM.
By the way, I love how in this thread you act like we should of played Georgia and that would of been tougher yet in another thread you bash Georgia last year for getting destroyed by Tennessee and said Georgia was no good. Which is it, hypocrite?

I know you're anti-LSU and all, but I think this is a legitimate question: What would Miles/LSU have to do to prove that they don't suck/aren't lucky/etc.?

If we won every game by 50 next year he'd still say Miles is living off Saban's success.
I'm really interested to see if he's one of those posters who actually eats his talk when the season comes around. you know, when Bama lost 6 games last year and LSU went on to win the national title. I bet he wasn't around for weeks after Bama lost to ULM.

Auburn obviously has a good defense year in and year out, but I'm not sure if they're the #3 best defense in the nation. I would put them at #3 in the SEC this season before I would in the nation actually.

Only the kind of girls that you can only dream about being with.
FYI: I don't "shack up." I take them home, have my way with them, then I usually feed them a triscuit or something and send them on their way. Don't judge me. Hey, I always offer to call the cab for them... even if I don't pay for it.
