View Full Version : Tell us why your team will win the SEC

With what seems like years to go until the first kickoff of the 2008 season, I'm starting to convulse and foam at the mouth. And I even had a series of rabies shots about 10 years ago. I can't wait for the Gamecocks to start kicking azz (no offense, mugg) and taking names. This is the year of the Cock, I'm here to tell you. We've been "waiting 'til next year" for too dang long. You just wait and see. St. Garcia is going to come in, after spending all of 2007 on the scout team and the first half of 2008 keying cars or on suspension, and throw for 4000 yards and 41 TDS enroute to a perfect record, an SEC championship, and a trip to the NC. Either that, or Beecher and Smelley will split time throwing interceptions and we'll have to "wait til next year" again.

I think I'll have another Natty Light now.
Your turn.

Good answer.
I used up all mine. What the heck am I supposed to say to that?

Just look at our roster, it speaks for itself.

I think we have great experienced leadership at every position except for QB. CBs are young too, but I expect them to step up. Great OL and a national top 5 DL. Games are won on the lines.

With consistent QB play with few turnovers, the SEC is within reach, but honestly, I'd be happy with a SECCG appearance at this point, which I think we will get.

Gonna take a gamble here... Louisiana?

Gonna take a gamble here... Louisiana? Nope. Georgia. I'm the only person from my family not born in Louisiana though, so naturally I have a family full of Tiger fans.

Thanks, chief. If he had answered Louisiana I would have asked him what part since I'm it's my home state as well.

Because Georgia and Florida take us lightly this year and the new offensive scheme under Clawson is picked up quickly by Crompton.

Saban is a pretty good head coach and there are big question marks in Auburn and LSU. I think AU and LSU will do well but you never know with 2 new starting QB's...

We're gonna win because we have 12 NC's and the best damn tradition ever.

In all seriousnessess....es we're gonna be fine if we can just score more than our opponents.

Because Brent Schaeffer is the answer to our nagging QB problem since Eli left, and A.J. Jackson gives us the big WR we've never had. Jerrel Powe will be a beast on defense and should get by the NCAA requirements his second go around. Wait--what? It's 2008?? Man, that was some party...

Garcia will come back from Florida with a new haircut and tan.
He will have gone to rehab to substitue the hard stuff with fruity drinks.

Spurrier will take a class on anger management and compose him self when we throw 8 interceptions a game. with his newly found composure, he will calmly coach us back from a 63 point defict .

Obviously that is total crap ^

I think if we learn how to block the pass rush and actually give defenses a steady dose of hardcore running up the gut, and wear down the d (to keep them honest) ,and have a decent passing game (that somebody can manage), then and only then will we be a force to reckon with.

O and somebody stop the rushing game on the defensive side.

if all of these components mesh together, I don't see why we can't go 9-3 maybe even 10-2.

After we beat Vandy in game 2, the world will end. We'll be the only team with an SEC victory at that point so we will win by default.

Because LSU has better talent and better coaches than the rest of the teams in the West and should be able to hang in there with any team from the East. It's pretty simple.

Oh, let's toss out some red meat to the Aubs...

We are the Alabama Crimson Tide. It is our birthright.

Big games are won in the trenches, and LSU has both OL and DL superiority. Also, we have the best offensive coordinator in the SEC in Gary Crowton. He will use the talent well, and everyone will be shocked at how well our QB position turns out.

The Gators might take you for granted because they hung 59 on ya last season. I don't know why any UGA fan would though since we've dropped two in a row to ya. Biggest reason for Dawg optimism is that we get the bye week before our meeting and History shows that whoever has it wins almost every time.

Your O won't be all that different from what I've seen and read. One would expect a few new wrinkles but no wholesale changes like what Auburn has done.

We'll win because we have Jasper Brinkley. Can we still say we'll win because we have steve or no? Hmm. Well honestly if we win itll be because georgia drops a few because of their schedule including a loss to us (because of Jasper) and they beat Florida but Florida loses a couple they shouldnt because of their D.

ColonelKurtz
07-11-2008, 01:24 PM
Oh, why will Georgia win the SEC?????

Primarily because there isn't a superior 44 in the Conference, much less a starting 22.
