Found this on another board...what will the SEC's record be against the ACC this year?
Clemson vs Alabama (Bama wins)
Clemson vs South Carolina (Carolina wins)
Wake forest vs Mississippi (Wake Forest Wins)
Wake forest vs Vanderbilt (Wake Forest Wins)
Florida state vs Florida (Florida Wins)
Nc State vs USC (Carolina Wins)
Florida vs Miami (Florida Wins)
Ga. tech vs Mississippi State (Mississippi State Wins)
Ga. tech vs Georgia (Georgia Wins)
Duke vs Vanderbilt (Vanderbilt Wins)
That's 8-2 for the SEC against the ACC.
Now, the tossups IMO are Clemson v. Carolina, Clemson v. Alabama, Georgia Tech v. Mississippi State. I have the ACC winning two (both Wake wins). The rest of them will be blow outs in the SEC team's favor IMO.
Many will question me picking Clemson to lose to bama and carolina, but they are replacing 4 offensive lineman and they don't have any returning linebackers. Since they are predominately a rushing team, not having an experienced offensive line will really hurt them. Bama might beat them by more than people believe. And of course I can't pick USC to lose to Clemson...haha.:D

I did not realize how brutal Alabama's schedule was as they play most of their big games on the road. Clemson will not be an easy one, especially to start the season, but I hope the Tide can pull it off.

I agree that they are overrated but they still beat Alabama and South Carolina.

You read my mind. It was hard to take Mississippi State over Ga. Tech but I can't imagine the SEC going .500 against the ACC.

It wasn't too hard for me. If you tihnk Petrino at Arkansas will go through growing pains next year in their transition year wait till you see Paul Johnson's fumble-offense next year at Georgia Tech.

Both teams really don't have much of an offense and pretty good defenses. The game will be low scoring which will make for a close game. It is really easy to take Georgia Tech at home in this one. Who said I thought Petrino was going to go through growing pains next year?

That just seems to be the consensus

I hope Bama doesn't let the SEC down. Clemson is an awful tough draw for us in the first week of the season. You've got a team in Clemson that is filled with experienced offensive playmakers and lots of talent, going up against a young 'Bama defense. Not a good matchup for us on paper.
If Bama is going to pull out a victory, a lot of it is gonna be placed on the performance of the offense. Our best defense might be to keep Harper, Davis, Spiller, etc...on the sidelines. We can do that if we protect the football and establish a strong running game behind our big offensive line.
Go SEC!

That may be true but Clemson is replacing 4 of its offensive lineman. That could prohibit them from running the ball...which would mean a victory for the Tide!

I like the way you think!
Here's to hoping that a couple of SEC teams spoil Clempson's BCS hopes!

Clemson may have lost 4 lineman but they still have Tammy as their coach and that is a definate plus for anybody they play.

I hope we can start it off right. It certainly will be a major test, but to be the best you have to beat the best. Why not start off with the first game?

My thoughts exactly. If anybody can marginalize their talent, and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, it's TB. Those picks are about right in my mind. I have to keep reminding myself that having a good record in the ACC doesn't really mean much, compared to our conference. I don't have any trouble visualizing a 9-4 Clemson team losing to two SEC teams who lost 6 games last year. The other games are pretty much no-brainers, including GT and MSU. MSU is getting stronger, while GT starting from scratch with a new coach. I think Johnson will be a great coach for them... we just won't see it in the results the first year. Wake Forest looks good enough to win their two games.
