Looks good but I would move UF up one as well as Kansas. LSU and AU also seem to high, but that's just me.

I thought the same thing, but in LSU's case they have plenty of talent coming back and it's kinda hard to gauge where they're gonna end up next year. I don't see any more than 3 losses, so 8 seems about right for now, being that they are the defending champs. Auburn seems high, but they were a pretty good team at the end of last year and they return virtually everyone. With their defense it's hard for me to argue that they should be lower than some of the teams that I have close to them.

Lol, you put OSU ahead of UF and OU. Trust me, I won't call you a homer. Just use your head when you make these lists, people.

Actually, I think that OSU will be pretty good this year and if they get though two games they should be in the National Championship again. Obviously, the September 13th date with USC is the first one. The second one is their trip to Wisconsin. The Buckeyes always seem to struggle with the Badgers on the road. I almost put OU lower in the poll as well. The Big 12 is going to be a lot tougher this year and I'm not sure they are the best team in the conference.

Ohio State does look like they'll be a great team this year. It always helps to have an all-american LB pass on the pros to stay another season. Ohio State will be much better than last year in my opinion and they made the national title game last year.

Wisconsin and Missouri are WAY too high IMO. I think the Vols are about right, but Auburn is high. LSU deserves to be there regardless of how far they may fall. If UF would've won their bowl game, I would say they deserve to be right up there with Georgia. Georgia will start out at the top, but they won't stay there.

I think Wisconsin is more of a stretch than Missouri, but only because of their schedule. They have to play @ Fresno State, @ Michigan, vs. Ohio State and vs. Penn State in a 4 week stretch. That's tough, no matter how "soft" the Big 10 is. They have a good bit to replace on offense, but defensively, the Badgers should be pretty solid. As far as Mizzou, call it a hunch but they should have one of those offenses that will score in the clutch and I think they will win most of the close ballgames they play in.

Fair enough. Wisconsin will only be decent because of playing in the Big-Ten. They really aren't all that good. (Maybe I am just thinking that because of the whooping we laid on them in the Outback Bowl) But Mizzu got extremely lucky last year IMO and I don't see it happening again.

I'm inclined to agree with you about Mizzou, but only because I think the Big 12 is alot better this year. Texas Tech could surprise alot of people with all the returning players they have coming back on defense and an already lethal attack. Oklahoma should be good as usual and Texas, while not the Texas of the past, should still field a good team. Kansas seems to be a decent team, but playing an actual schedule should mean that they won't contend for the Big 12 Title. Colorado could also surprise a few teams, I really think they are a program on the rise. I still think Mizzou is at least the second best team in the conference, though and I think the Big 12 is second only to the SEC in terms of conference strength. That, in my mind, merits Mizzou a Top 10 spot in the preseason.

The Big 12 is probably second to the SEC, that's true. It's gonna be tough on them.

No way Chase Daniel wins the Heisman BTW. Jon Crompton has as good a chance as he does.

Objectively, the list is damn near perfect. I, too, think LSU is a tad high. I think with RP we should have been around 7, but after losing him I see us around 10. Three SEC teams in the top eight is realistic but do you think it'll fly with the people who invent the rankings?

Ahhhhh... what's that I hear?? Tis the Bammers, rumbling around getting their responses ready. BP has been sent an emergency telegram. It shouldn't be too long, now, before we hear something.

I have no problem with LSU being PRESEASON #8. They'll probably be higher than that after the first 3 weeks. Then comes the tumble. Appy St. could bump them off early, tho.

Fresno State 16th in the country? Ahead of Tennessee?

Yep, they are the most likely team to crash the BCS along with possibly BYU.

I think Fresno is a bit high. They will get tested early with their schedule. I think if you move them around 18-20, they will turn some heads and be deserving of a top 15 ranking or lose those games and rightfully be dropped out of the top 25.

I don't understand why it's hard for people to understand LSU being in the top 10. Lowest I see us in the week 1 rankings is 11. I think with RP, we were a top 5 team. Without him, 8-10. QB hasn't been a problem for us lately except for 2004 with the constant switching of Randall and Russell. There's no reason to think now we don't have what was a back-up QB that can't step up. See RP in 2007 SECCG, Mauck in 2001 SECCG, Davey for Booty vs. Tennessee in 2000, etc.
